SCS Ray10 and Falken Wildpeak AT3 Tires are on, pic>>>
Hi guys,
I finally managed to get the SCS Ray10 wheels and Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires onto the 2006 4Runner. Here are the specs:
Car:
2006 4Runner XSP V6 with OEM sport tubes installed
Wheels:
Matte Black SCS Ray10 17x8.5 -10mm offset - Love these wheels, great job on the design and quality Vin
Tires:
Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires - 265/70/17
Lift:
Daystar 2.5/1.5
I am getting a little bit rubbing when turning the wheels. I will have to do the fender liner clearancing this weekend. I'm glad I didn't go any bigger on the size as the 265/70 seems to be plenty for a daily driver.
And after that I plan to do the chrome delete (grill, door handles, and rear tailgate trim).
Thanks guys!

I agree that your rig looks awesome with those tires and lift.
However, you might try running without spacers first unless you really want to cut into your T4R. I've read the -10 offset is almost like running 1 1/4 spacers so you have pushed your rubber out nearly 2 1/2" from the intended wheel pocket. I've been running 265/70/17's on my 04 Sport for 12 years with absolutely no rub at all. First with the Daystar Kit your running and now with my OME/Toytec. Most realize that the spacers will actually increase the chance of rubbing.
FWIW...

Thank you for the positive feed-back everyone.
And to answer the question above regarding spacers, I'm not using spacers.
SCS specs these for an aggressive stance with a -10mm offset. It's roughly equivalent to the OEM wheels with a 1.25" spacer, as you say.
I wouldn't have it any other way since I like that flush with the fender look, but it will require a little massaging of the fender liner it looks like.

Dang, that looks sick. Any idea if scs wheels in that size and spec could be ran without a lift? With stock 265/65/70?

From what I remember reading on this forum, I think you can. It will just surely require more clearancing than would be necessary with the lift. Some obviously don't want to take that on...

Yes. Stock aluminum 17" sport wheels.

My apologies. I thought I read in the specs you were also running spider tracks spacers in addition to the new wheels.

I'm not 100% on either question, but I think the 4th gen went through the most changes in 06 which might include the wheel well.

Everything I've read on Falken Wildpeaks has stated the opposite, very quiet for an aggressive A/T tire.
