About to paint my cargo area interior. Need paint codes and suggestions.

Hey guys,

My cargo area is scuffed up after 130k miles and I want to paint it this winter. A few things to note:
  • I am not going to take apart the panels and paint them outside. Too much work. I intend to tape off edges and prep as best as I can and paint them inside the car as they are. Yes, I am aware of fumes and smell, hence I have ruled out any bed liner material altogether (been there done that with bedliner fumes).
  • No panel removal means spray paint is out of the question. So I am looking for roll-on or brush-on options.
  • I am not looking to go crazy trying to make it perfect and color match the other stuff. It's a well used truck that will remain well used, so I am just looking for something that will be more presentable than the scuffed up interior that I have now.

I have heard SEM is a good brand. In SEM or otherwise, anyone know what paint codes match the interior grey the closest? Do you have any other tips for me before I begin this project?

Thanks a lot guys,

Well that's a crazy mod. I don't have your color but all I can say is take your time masking. You'd honestly probably do better spraying, just try not to be so close so that you can blend your overlay. Reason being is roll on drips and is messy. Plus I feel like you have more color options with a spray, depending which brand and finish you are looking for

Post pics tho

Question

I have the same question. Mine is the light grey too. I heard colorbond makes awesome stuff but I have no idea which of their greys to use. If you scroll on the left and click "toyota" then the toyota colors pop up. There are a few greys there. Was wondering if someone has done this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did paint/dye my leather seat in my GMC Acadia in the past and the color match was 100%. Emailed colorbond but they weren't helpful. Here is their link https://www.colorbondpaint.com/pages/paint-selector
