Modifying an universal winch mounting plate for a hidden winch
Has anyone gone the route of a DIY hidden winch mounting solution using something like this or similar? At $32, it seems like a good way to start out building your own hidden winch plate. The plate on this item is 1/4" thick and one can easily build gussets and bracketries to tie in with the frame horns better.

I like the idea of having a pre-bent piece of 1/4" steel so I'll order one of these universal plates. I'll start a new thread with pics when the time comes.

The Amazon unit seems robust so I'll have some options. Material thickness is a hair less than 1/4", not bad. I'm putting this on the back burner until the current slider fab project is complete.

Another nice one and it's one inch longer than mine which can help with adding brackets.

For those that have done this, does anybody have a pic of the AC line moved? Looking at mine, it appears there's a bracket on the left side that supports the AC line. I believe this will need removed and then the AC line zip tied along the rear support rail.
