Climate Control Display

Has anyone's climate control/mpg/range/temp display flickered or started to darken on one side???? I noticed mine slowly flickering the other day and now its starting to go darker on one side.

If it bothers you enough, get it replaced under warranty. I haven't noticed mine though... Maybe just a replacement bulb? It is pretty easy to get back there if you want to take a look.

The display has two bulbs behind it. It's a pretty quick fix, or if your still under warranty have your local dealer do it.

Yup, right half on the passenger side only when lights are on--noticed after 3 months of ownership. Should be an easy fix though.

Funny you guys mention this. I just got my 03 4Runner back from the dealer after fixing this "little" problem. I thought it was a lightbulb issue and so did the service agent at the dealer who told me my car would be ready the next day. It turned out that the problem was with an internal switch not making contact and they had to order a new temp controller. I got my car back a week later. The replacement part cost almost $900. Luckily I had the extended warranty and it was all covered, including the use of a loaner car. I really hope this does not happen again.

I guess I'll be taking a trip to the dealer cause it does bug me. I notice small things like that and can't let them slide.

yup mine started this flickering a while back, thought it was just a bulb that needed to be replaced. But after hearing about the internal switch, i'm getting it checked. Thanks for the info

Is there a TSB for this

I have 20,000 miles on my 06 and the passenger side of the climate control display started flickering today and at times was out completely. I have had my 4 Runner now for one year and three days. Got it October 28th 2005. Is there a TSB on this? as it appears it is happening on enough vehicles.
