Aftermarket Wheels

Are aftermarket wheels necessary in order to fit 33's without rubbing? I've searched and can not find a clear answer. Thanks

The only 33s you will install without rubbing are the 255 skinny tires. you are going to rub with 285s more than likely regardless of the rim.Your rub points are the tire well liner and or the outside of the front bumper due to pushing the tire out with offset aftermarkets or spacers on your stocks. Without the spacers, you risk rubbing the UCA with 285s. I have never heard of anyone having rub issues with 255s.

Also a lot depends on the tire BFGs will rub more than say a dueler AT because of the tread blocks and sidewall.. Hope this helps

As parboy said. Depends on what 33 your running. If 255 no need for anything. If 285, chances are you need different wheels or spacers. I think some FJ wheels or possibly 5th gen wheels you might be ok. Really don't know though. If wheels are not an option, some spidertrax or allpro wheel adapter/spacers will do the trick.
