Tires?

First off- kudos to you on the awesome thread and DIY prowess.

Forgive me if I missed it as I read through the whole thread pretty quickly, but did you end up getting new tires already? Looks like you're running dynapro's right?

When I brought her back from purchase in Ga, the tires were bald and I went ahead and replaced with Pathfinder A/T’s in stock size from Discount Tire. They’re holding up wonderfully. Biding my time to pick up another set of used wheels so I can get a used set of 285’s for wheeling fun.

Just got back from Iceland and, although I traversed the country fine for my needs in the rented Hyundai iq10, I dearly missed my 4Runner. However I saved over $500 in rental fees and gas by skipping the 4 wheel drive. Anyway, this is a good example of the way they do it over there. The Landcruiser I parked next to in Höfn.

Glad this thread got bumped so I could see it. What a ride. All the things I wish I had the knowledge, skill, and confidence to do myself. If this wasn't my only vehicle I might try some of them. Great job not only tacking these things yourself, but succeeding at them.

Although I disappeared for a time, with many life changes, Gypsy has taken me on my way and is still worth her weight in gold.

Love it. I follow a couple of Lance FB groups since I also hope to do the TT thing one day and they have such a stellar reputation.
 
Cool build. I liked seeing the progression of your rig. Really nice work! I too like to diy. Im gonna have to steal some of your ideas.

And I’m going to have to steal your ideas too! Looking good! I really want to replace my front bumper but don’t want to add weight since I pull my house…and I can’t fork the $ for aluminum. Love yours though.

Thanks! This bumper weighs in around 90#. Not too bad, but I get it. I pull my side by side but generally stay close to home. It’ll get worse once I add a winch, skid plates and rock sliders haha.

Keep up the great work!!!

It was always going to happen. Trailing arm section of the frame rusted out.
