Yes, I'd suggest the C59-314 coils with the GS59-220 struts up front, then the C59-327 in the rear with the GS59-701 shocks in the back, plus UCA's.
The C59-327 rear coils are sold out though and it's going to be a few months before they make it to the states again, so there will be a bit of a lead time on those.

Awesome, thanks again for the quick reply

Need help with suspension
So I was just about to pull the trigger and get dobinson coils for my 5100s then remembered how much I didn't like the 5100s and instead of trying salvage it I might as well re-do my suspension with a full dobinson kit.
@crickeymike
What would your suggesting be for a 2.5-3" lift on a stock weight 03 4runner v8 (will be adding about 100lbs of sound deadening material, full roof rack, and some sliders.)
I was looking at the standard dobinson setup but also see the IMS have adjustable height. Would the IMS be preloading the springs like the 5100s and ultimately having a stiffer ride...again?
Are the IMS over kill for a daily driver (city and highway) with MINIMAL offroading? Should I be looking at the twintube Dobinsons with possible a Long travel rear or is that an overkill as well?
I will be ripping out my airbag and going with a Dobinson or Metal-tech conversion kit. What other parts should I be looking at? I was going through your suspension builder and I just got overwhelmed.
I know UCAs are recommended but what about Extended brake lines, lean spacers, panhard rod...etc?
Ultimately i'm looking to have a comfort ride since this is my daily and family vehicle. We do a lot of city and highway driving and It seems like we felt every single bump, crack and pot hole with the 5100s.
TIA!

Hey man,
Yeah IMS would be overkill if you never really go offroad.
No, we use lifted coils to get the lift instead of just adding preload.
For 3" of lift front and 2" lift rear, this is what you'd need.
C59-302 front coils
GS59-220 struts
UCA's
Diff drop kit
C59-325 rear coils
GS59-705 rear shocks
Front lean spacer most likely
Rear sway bar links
Airbag conversion kit
New brake lines aren't needed. No other parts from the kit builder page on my site are necessary for everything to work properly at that lift height.

For the first time since November 2020, the Dobinsons UCA's are finally back in stock!!!
Anyone who has been incredibly patient and waiting all this time, they're shipping out today and over the next couple of days. But the great news is that there is a ton more in stock also, so if you're in the market for some ridiculously beefy UCA's, check these out!!
4Runner UCA's by Dobinsons also suit GX470 GX460 and FJ Cruiser

hello, new to the forum here. I am looking to lift my 07 v8 and was looking at the Dobinsons kit. I was hoping someone here could help me out with some pictures of how it might turn out with the 2.5 inch in the front and 2 inch lift in the rear. I want it to be as level as possible. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!!
Here you go man, this is 2.5" front and 2" rear, right after install so it would have settled a little bit.
He's running these parts:
C59-314
GS59-221
C59-325
GS59-705
And here's where all of the options are broken down: Dobinsons 1" to 3.5" Lift Kit for Toyota 4Runner 4x4 2003-2009 (all options)

Suspension setup for 05 4Runner V6 Sports Edition
Hi Mike. First off, this is a wonderful thread.
I am about ready to get rid of my XREAS in favor of Dobinsons all around.
Here is my situation:
1. Driving: Mostly city and highway, may be 10% light trails, nothing too crazy
2. Tire Setup: Plan to get 265/70/17 on TRD off-road wheels soon.
3. Preference: Comfortable ride for city and highway, hence not going Bilstein's
4. Stance: Looking to level with minor raise, and reduce the rake to approx. 1 inch, but not get rid of it completely. Would like it to be level even when loaded with passengers, and groceries. Never Nose high, I absolutely hate that look
5. Passengers: Myself, wife and kid
Here is what I am thinking:
Front:
Coil: C59-296 - Stock front end, 1.5" lift
Strut: GS59-221 - Twin Tube Standard seat height
Rear:
Coil: C59-323 - Stock height
Shock: GS59-705 - Twin Tube Comfort valved for light rigs (0-2.5" lift)
In future if I want to upsize to 285s, will this setup still support it?
I am pretty much final on the strut and shocks
Coil, I am bit undecided between the above and the following:
C59-300 - Stock front end, 1.75-2.0" lift
C59-599 - 3/4" with stock weight
Most importantly, I am not trying to get a super lifted stance, Just something levelled and less rake.
Thanks for your help

Hey bud, welcome to the thread!!
Yeah, that setup you listed out would be perfect with stock sized tires. Jumping up later to a 285 would be a bit of a tight fit, and you would probably want to add more lift at that time to put more space between the tires and the fenders. That's not to say it can't be done, but bigger tires with a minimal lift isn't so common.
The 1.5" front and stock height rear coils would leave you with about 1/2" of rake, so not too much. The 2" front and 1" rear is more common, leaving 1" of rake. They're all the same springs rates between them, so the ride would be the same too.
The struts and shocks you've selected will also fit your bill the best, being the most comfortable also for on and offroad use.

Thanks
@ Crikeymike
for your response, I think I am gonna go with 300/599.
I am assuming the struts dont play any part in the lift, so if I pick Dobinson's instead of bilsteins, they will give me the same result, since the below is set to 0 on Bilstein's
Going through the forum, I found this one below.
Thats pretty much what I want to go with as well. This 4runner is uncannily similar to mine. Same color, same wheels.

I had actually purchased Moog FJ coils but the more I read about them I saw a lot of examples where they wouldn't seat correctly and the ride was questionable so I decided I only wanted to replace my suspension once so I should do it right and go with Dobinsons.
I'm only about 20 miles in (all on road so far) but I'm really happy with how everything rides and looks. I previously had the stock XREAS suspension with Daystar leveling spacers in the front. Considering it had 135k it still rode fine but was getting a bit tippy and bouncy. That feeling is gone now and it feels firm and stable but not harsh at all.
With 265/70r17 tires here are my approximate old and new measurements (hub to fender):
Old (stock XREAS, Daystar leveling spacers in front):
Front Driver: 21
Front Passenger: 21
Rear Driver: 21
Rear Passenger: 21
New (Dobinsons 300/599, Bilstein 5100s at 0):
Front Driver: 22
Front Passenger: 22 1/2
Rear Driver: 23 1/4
Rear Passenger: 23 1/4
The stance is perfect and I definitely got more lift than advertised due to my saggy old springs. Very happy with how it turned out.

Yes, that's right. The struts don't add lift when set to the lowest clip height, or using the GS59-221

Short version:
Is there anything to fill the gap between the c59-327 and the c59-329?
327's are 200-400lbs additional capacity
329's are 600-800lbs
Long version:
I'm just a bit over capacity on 505's now when I'm loaded for camping and have the bike rack and bikes on the back, with air bags helping out, but have a trailer on order, and with what was originally going to be dynamic weight (camping/recovery gear, fridge, etc) now static, and wanting to add a rear tube bumper.....
I'm going to be right ~400lbs static most likely. Bike rack/bikes are frequently used, which adds about 100-125lbs tongue weight, and the trailer should be ~175lb max tongue weight, so I figure I'm squarely in the 400-600 ballpark, smack dab in between the 327 and 329 offerings.
I wouldn't mind getting rid of the bags, but don't want to really be oversprung...and at the same time, I'm probably a -bit- over capacity on the 505's without a bike rack on the back, but even without air in the bags it rides -really- well on and off road - no bounce in the back on the highway....so I'm wondering if the 327's could be pushed a bit further (without bags), if there's something in-between, or if I should just have the builder fill some of the tubes in the bumper with lead to get the weight up into the range for the 329's....lol
