Looking to place an order soon. I have a 2WD V6 2008 and I just want to make sure I order the right things. I'm looking to get about a 2.5" lift in the front and 2" lift in the rear. I want it level or a smaller factory rake still. I'm thinking of ordering:
Front Coil: C59-302 - V6 - Stock front end load, 2.5" lift. 395/395mm, 17mm wire, 586LB
Front Strut: IMS59-50220 - IMS Front Monotube Struts - suit 0-3.5" lift
Rear Coil: C59-325 - Stock rear end load, 1.75" to 2" lift. 420/420mm, 17mm wire, 220LB
Rear Shock: IMS59-50705 - IMS Rear Shocks comfort valved - suits 0-3" lift
Some questions: - I have factory weight, so I'm assuming the comfort valved rears will be more enjoyable? Better for rough roads and speed bumps?
- Will I need new UCAs at the 2.5" front coil lift? (No offroading)
- If stock UCAs, what camber do I need for proper alignment?
- Do I need the top mounts too? Or anything else I'm missing?
- Are these "serviceable" shocks that recommend having them sent to the factory for refurbishing every 40k miles or so like I've seen on others? Or set it and forget it?

All the specs listed on the forum here and on my website are for 4x4 models. The 4x2 models are considerably lighter and would lift a lot more than the listed heights for that reason. You have to add 1" to the 4x4 heights, so in your case, you'll need coils for 1.5" of lift that will give 2.5" approximately on a 2WD. That would be the C59-296.
Yeah, comfort rears would ride the best.
No, UCA's aren't required at that height but for the best articulation, ride quality and alignment, you should add them if you can afford to.
Top mounts use rubber too, and yours are 13 years old already, so I'd recommend new ones.
Yes, they're serviceable and rebuildable but there is no set rebuild cycle. You would repair them as needed, but no sooner than that. I have a detailed video of them on my Youtube page.

@ Crikeymike
Could the C59-300 be considered a 'leveling' spring on a V6 4th gen?
I currently have 5100/FJ springs in the front with the stock rear springs. They netted me about 1" of lift but the stance is still really nose down, another inch or so (2" total) would really be ideal.
Or so I considered another option, like the C59-296?

Yeah, it would. The C59-300's with those 5100's on the lowest clip would bring it up properly and have pretty much no rake left. I've sold those coils to several guys wanting to do that. The 296's would only be about 1/2" more than you're at now.

Dobinsons long travel 675v rear springs for sale
Hey everyone, I recently upgraded to 677v's for my rear springs (Thanks to Mike!) to support my growing weight for trips. I had 675v's for the long-travel shocks that I'll need to sell (I'll post in elsewhere but I thought I would mention here since it has been hard to get some items). They have around 1,800 miles on them and they are red.
I will give a glowing review with pictures soon Mike! I'm just waiting for the 677v's to break in before pictures/measurements. I'm really happy with my setup though, it feels complete now. I just need to install my UCA's and get an alignment. I already have some good trail experience with the IMS setup (not with the 677v's though since I just installed them). I will report back in a week or two. Thanks, Mike!

Received my adjustable lower trailing arms. Can’t wait to get them installed this weekend and fix my pinion angle. Excellent! Thank you

Looking at placing an order soon but am having a hard time deciding which coils to get.
I’m already running bilstein 5100s front and rear but want to replace to coils for a 2.5” ish lift.
Daily driver and family vehicle so comfort is quite important.
Vehicles mostly stock but looking into a full prinsu rack, awning, and MAYBE a hitch mounted tire rack in the near future but that’s about it.
Also Is driver side lean an issue?
Any recommendations is greatly appreciated

Curious what size tire you are running with the lift you have. If not stock, do you have rubbing?

OK, it would be the C59-314 front coils for 2.5" and a V8
In the rear, you can run the C59-325's for 2" without the swing out tire carrier. Or C59-327's if you think you will run it and want better load support, especially with the rack and awning.
Yeah, I'd recommend front and rear lean correction spacers too on the driver's side. Be sure to put the awning on the passenger side to alleviate some driver side lean.

I have a 2009 v6 4runner all stock with xreas ... i plan on removing the xreas and putting a new suspension on it soon. i have heard good things about Dobinsons. My 4runner is mostly street driven and not used to tow. What setup would you suggest for best windy mountain road handling? I was planning on just leveling, to remove factory rake , and running 265/70/17 tires. Thanks!

Hello.
The best bet for you would be to add 1.5" front lift and use stock height rear coils, then new struts and shocks. Keeping it closer to stock height will help keep the geometry as even as possible, which will help with cornering. This will also remove a lot of the nose dive when braking as well with the stronger front springs.
Here's what I'd recommend:
C59-296 front coils
GS59-221 front struts
C59-323 rear coils
GS59-705 rear shocks
PS59-4030 front lean correction spacer, for driver's side.
That's all you'd need. This page here lists every possible option, so you can read through them, but none are required with this lift height:
Dobinsons 1" to 3.5" Lift Kit for Toyota 4Runner 4x4 2003-2009 (all options)
Let me know if you have any other questions.
There's also going to be a significant price increase on all Dobinsons parts effective tomorrow May 1st, so anyone else on the fence about ordering, now will be the cheapest time!!
