Got the dreaded "check engine" + "VSC off" lights

Got that odd combination of "check engine" and "VSC off" etc. lights today. I've got just over 18,000 miles on the odo and nothing new recently except for the TRD exhaust system installed. He did have to do some welding with the system on the vehicle, but it was installed a few days ago and I've put about 50-60 miles on since the installation. I have noticed a distinct "hot brakes" smell coming from the twin tips, but chalked that up to a new system.

So, I went to drive the vehicle today. Started it up and noticed that the lights won't go out. The "CEL" stays lit from when you turn the key to "on", while the VSC off and TRAC lights first will go off, then come back on in about 15 seconds and stay lit. Nothing seems to run "funny", just those persistent lights.

Used the search button and seems to be a common phenomenon. I don't have a code reader, but sounds like an 02 sensor might be the problem.

A few people had mentioned checking for a loose gas cap since apparently this will also trigger the lights. So I check my gas cap and it doesn't seem to be particularly loose, maybe just a little, but oddly when I opened it there was this weird belching, groaning sound that came from the filler tube. I've never heard that before! So thinking a loose cap was the problem, I make sure it's tight and restart the vehicle. The lights do the same thing. Any thoughts?

WTF, dude?

After "4runnab" learns the difference between "your" and "you're", we'll move on to "it's" and "its" before moving to the very advanced "to", "too" and "two".

"Its to bad your a mo-ron".
