Bamatoy's not so clever build thread title...thread

As the title says...couldn't come up with a clever thread title name so that's all you get. Basically, like everyone else, I need a place to keep all my shit together and remind myself just how much money and time I have put into this damn thing. Good times though, right?

I also haven't been the very best at taking pictures of progress at the correct times but this will at least give yall the idea.

Current Mods:
Exterior -
3" Toytec spacer lift (aka budget lift and wanted to keep XREAS ride as long as possible)
1" Toytec Body Lift
285/65/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
18" RR2 Relation Race Wheels
4xInnovations Weld on Sliders
Custom Built Front Bumper with prerunner hoop
PlastiDipped Badges
Black housing head lights and tail lights
35w HID kit
Rola Basket Roof Rack
20% Tint / Windshield 30%
Custom made Tacoma style Satoshi grill
Nilight LED pod bumper fog lights
7" NiLight black housing LED fog lights behind Satoshi
Flush Mount NiLight LED Auxiliary Reverse Lights
LED turn signals/reverse lights/corners
Borla Pro XS Exhaust
Side Exit Exhaust
Anytime fog Light Mod
Air Filter Mod
K&N Air Filter

Interior -
Pioneer AVH 4100NEX In‑dash DVD Receiver ‑ 7" Touch Screen
Backup Camera
LED lights throughout
WeatherTech Floormats
WinPlus Neoprene seat covers (bc who can afford Wet Okole)

Future mods -
Upgrade full suspension....brand is yet to be determined
Rear CBI plate bumper
RCI front to back skids
Dual battery setup
Auxiliary button pod for all future button needs(Ordered)
Prinsu rack
RTT
Rock Lights(Sitting in garage waiting to install)

Picture time!

As she sits as of today. Picture was taken 3/11/17 at our big TacomaWorld meet. Not much of a Bama T4R supporting cast here so I stick to my regular folk!

Day 1 when I drove from Bama to North Carolina to pick it up. Dismiss my finger in the pic. We just stopped at Bass Pro and I had to piss like hell and was in a hurry. Also, a pic of it next to my old Taco that i built and got rid of....sad day.

Next came the basic must do mods with the anytime fogs and interior LEDs Then added the tinted windshield, dipped badges, WeatherTechs, and new Borla exhaust with rerouted side exit.

Next I picked up a Rola basket rack for cheap locally and added some custom made decals to make it a little different from the rest.

Next I replace the stock Urban Runner TomTom radio with a Pioneer 4100 NEX in dash and as close to stock style backup camera

Then I had finally had enough of the soccer mom ride height and stance and installed the Toytec 3" spacer lift and threw on some wheel spacers just to make it have a little better stance.

I came to the conclusion that the stock reverse lights weren't cutting it so i put in some LED bulbs. Only to decide they didn't cut it either so i decided to grow a wild hair and cut some holes in my rear bumper and add some aux reverse lights. Kinda nerve racking at first but once the initial cut was made, the install was very simple and almost enjoyable. Not to mention the light is AMAZING!

Once I had light in the back of the ride, i had to add some to the front. Hence started the pain in the ass of the tacoma style Satoshi grille with foglights recessed behind it. I learned very quickly that the T4R grille and the Tacoma grille are TOTALLY different. This became quite the issue to begin with but i made it work and have cleaned it up since the install.

Next was the beginning of getting ready for some new socks and shoes (wheels and tires) so I added a 1" Toytec body lift to help with some clearance issues that I assumed were sure to come. Even with the basket, still fit in the garage!

Then the new pieces started to arrive, slowly but surely. A set of 4xInnovation weld on sliders to replace the stock tube steps first. Then came the set of 18" RR2 Relation Race Wheels, followed by the meats! 285/65/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers! These things scared the hell out of me when they came in cuz all i could think about was that nasty scrubbing sound that everyone hates!

The more I kept thinking about those tires the more I almost knew they were going to scrub. I had a friend that was a fabricator and just getting into the auto scene so while i had him weld on my sliders, I went ahead and let him build me a front bumper to help any clearance issues. Needless to say, with these approach angles, I won't have to worry about any scrubbing up front til....well never!

Finally, it was time for new rubber to get on and I couldn't be happier with how it looks for now.

Just recently I threw in some cheap HIDs thanks to my friend @CrimsonCountry and definitely going to have to splurge soon on a nice more expensive brighter set. First pic is to compare the old halogens to the HIDs, second is just HIDs, and third is HIDs and LED foglights. Don't pay attention to the random patches on my walls. I had a puppy that loved to naw into drywall and i haven't gotten around to finishing it yet.
