4th gen phone mount pic

I got my order for my RAM Mount, can’t wait to get it installed.

Ordered part# RAM-B-102-UN10U for larger phones, from GPS City on Amazon. Figured I’ll make a back plate for it before installing it... and get some bolts, they aren’t included.

Here’s the install pics using the Panavise bracket and RAM mount. I decided to use this bracket instead of drilling holes.

Nice setup, I like it! Does that bracket just clip in behind the bezel, or does it screw into the side where it is hidden from view?

I bought this Panavise mount too, but I’m super disappointed how much it bounces around even just on regular roads… I’m suprised how much it sticks away from the dash I think that’s also part of the stability problem. Also the angle of the bracket is opposite of the angle of the dash so it almost looks like a design flaw, although the angle does make more sense in that you want the phone to face up and towards you. Honestly I think I would be totally happy with it if there wasn’t so much vibration and bobble. I’m thinking of cutting some dense foam to fit snug between the dash and the mount to see if that will do the trick.. but the angles will be tricky to make it look clean. I just want it to be more stable and I don’t want it to look janky.

Everyone just buy Mob Armor and call it a day. I use all of their mounts for my phones/tablet.

Only issue with (any) magnetic holder is the interference with GPS.

Vehicle-specific and phone-specific mounting solution from ProClip is still the best way I have found.

If your cell phone is mounted to any sort of magnet, it will interfere with your cell phone's GPS and can cause inaccurate readings. If you've ever tried using a cell phones GPS in a downtown area with tall buildings it's a similar problem

Agree on the Mob Armor. Easiest 1 handed placement and a solid hold. And I can pull it all done quickly if parking and I don’t want to encourage any nefarious activity. Ram mounts are solid and I use them on my motorcycle but it does take 2 hands to mount the phone up.
I haven’t had any GPS issues what so ever. I even have my GPS mounted with a Mob Armor mount. Love it. Also allows me to mix up the placements when I have a passenger that messes with the GPS.

Thanks for the idea, worked great for me. Tried to keep it out of the sight line & had to add support around the handle for stability.
