4th gen phone mount pic
Can somebody please post a pic of a phone mount on a gen-4 4-runner (2002-2009)?
The CD slot mount I have falls out after 15 minutes. The air vent mounts block the needed AC (Vegas ... 110 degrees +)
Many thanks!

You need to post in the correct forum. This is the 5th gen (2010-2017) model.

Ram ball bolted to the dash. The only secure way. Screw those gimmicky no drill mounts, they all suck with any phone or GPS that weighs more than an ounce.

I have a proclip usa phone holder works good. I didnt end up buying the mount i just double side 3m tape the phone holder. Right underneath the hazard light switch. I like ram mounts and i just dont like the fact i need to make holes in my dash. I have it on my dirtbike which really feel great. Will post a picture later

I use this screw-in Arkon phone mount. All of their products use the same mounting style, so you can replace the holder and moveable arms at will and keep the base installed. It is amazing holds my phone through on and offroad driving.

Ram Mount FTW
I second the Ram Mount. I have had all kinds of phone mounts and none of them have really been sturdy enough. But the Ram Mount is more than sturdy. I have the Ram Phone X-Grip and the Ipad holder and just finished a roadtrip using the iPad for 4,000km and it was solid as a rock.
Install wasn't too difficult. The backing plate that came with the Ram Mount needed to be trimmed to fit behind the plate. This gave it a bunch more support.

Stick it to the HVAC screen right over the passenger airbag indicator.

Firm believer in RAM mounts.
I originally had the suction cup mount, but after seeing
@ rickashay
's build I decided it looked so clean and practical that I would copy him.
Might not be the best picture, but I also installed a Blue Sea systems dual USB port right beneath the RAM mount. Looks practically factory and is very practical. Rickashay has better pictures on his RickRunner build thread.

I use these. We have one in each vehicle and even one on a kithen cabinet to hold and ipad for recipes.
In the 4runner, I have it mounted below the hazard switch and it angles nicely towards the driver.

I have the same setup in all my vehicles including the 4runner. Looks great.

I use the RAM mount for my tablet and I'm going to buy the mount for my IPhone next week. Currently Im using this rubber cell phone holder. It works ok but after a couple of years in the sun, the rubber is starting to melt and fall apart, also its leaving melted rubber on my phone.

This is from my older 4Runner, but it's still in the same spot (mounted on left side of radio trim under the 4wd selector) on my 07. That location works really well for me.

Anyone use the adhesive ram ball mount for a phone? I'm trying to stay away from holes in the trim.
Obviously it wouldn't work with tablets, but for regular size iphones i've been tempted to try. The only part keeping me from being a test dummy is the ~$50 cost to find out.
