Replacement suspension to bypass X-REAS- stock height only!

Hi everyone

My GF has a 2006 4runner with the X-REAS. It is not working properly and since it is a costly repair I would like to just get new suspension and bypass the system. I've read threads for lift kits you can get for this but she is just interested in stock height (I tried to convince her to lift it, of course but no dice).

Can anyone please recommend some good shocks that will give good on-road performance? She never takes it off-road much and we would like something that will suit highway and city driving

Thanks!

I'd say any Taco/5th Gen/FJ swap if you can find it for cheap. Each will require a tad bit of work to fit, but if the price is right, can't go wrong.

Otherwise Bils HD or 5100's + stock springs and call it good. A bit of performance but not enough that the butt will notice.

HD vs 5100's

Depending on the age and wear

of the OE coils just replacing the Xreas struts and shocks with aftermarket one can work but id suggest replacing the struts/shocks and coils all at once for a real improvement.
