It's very possible that it would reduce drag vs the exposed components, especially with a lift and losing the running boards an front/rear valances, which I will be doing. I know it won't work as well as a real diffuser, just wondering if it might produce some noticeable benefit. My fluid dynamics and aerodynamics classes were too long ago (degree in Aerospace Engineering but I've been doing structures analysis for 20 years now) to be of much direct help past knowing that smooth surfaces are better than big pockets and cavities.
I'm not sure the weight is as much of an issue in my application, I will be installing a significant amount of armor underneath anyway, so it'll be more an issue of what configuration that weight is in.
