4th gen to 5th gen front end conversion?
I've searched and searched, I see that the Taco's can do this, can the 4runners do it? i know silly, but just something about the 4th gen lights, look to bubbly. i want something more aggressive. more bull nosed front end, then the slanted.
I know this will require fenders, hood, lights, bumper covers, brackets, well covers, etc etc. but just wondering if its more a direct swap with minor trimming, or will actual fabrication be needed?
Thanks for any input!!

Gosh dangitt, now you're going to make me find that pic I saw a year ago of a 4th gen with a 3rd gen tacoma front clip...
Here is another conversion I found, it's just not natural... But maybe it would grow on me...

I'd be more interested in this swap
The facelifted Tacoma seems to match the 4th gens lines better. 5th gems are a lot sharper and more angular than the 4th gens. I could really get interested in this swap if I had some money and there's nothing too difficult about it.

Yeah...that looks HOT. Just not a fan of super wide fenders in the front and normal in the back. I get it's needed for LT...but just looks weird. Love the grill and headlights with that. Add a DO bumper...set.

I love that conversion, but I still dig the face of the 4th gens too.

Given that I've had this brick for 14 years, I wouldn't mind either swap: 5th gen or Taco. Front end only, though. Oh, and the mid-cycle refresh 5th gen only.

Thanks for the input, after doing some serious review of the 2015+ runners, the lines wont line up, and the rear fenders will need work. I might try making custom headlight covers (removing the lenses and making newly molded covers) with a little more aggressive look to them.

Reviving an old thread but for good reason.
Not sure who or where this thing was made but the conversion has been done. I came across these photos from a Facebook group and don’t know anymore details.

4th gen to 5th gen front end conversion?
I'm on the 2nd gen taco swap myself so am a bit biased.. but I can't imagine going through the process of doing the swap at 100% stock body look without doing steel bumpers and all.. Looks a bit better than the 4th gen running the taco swap with stock fenders and bumpers that I saw while doing my research.. just didn't look right.
But not everyone likes the look of my rig either so it's really not everyone's cup of tea and I absolutely love it..
With that said.. I wouldn't mind the 5th gen front end swap along with some wide fenders and a tubular steel bumper up front..

That grey one is like an hour drive from me.
I think I agree that the Taco swap does look a little better, and appears to be easier to run an aftermarket bumper with.

How do you think it would work with the preface life 4runner trail from pre 2014 MY?

Dang that thing is hard to look at. I guess some folks have too much time and money and too little common sense.
