Need some suspension advice
Hey all, been reading all the suspension threads trying to figure out my best course of action to reach my end goal while keeping this build on a strict budget.
When I got the truck 11k miles ago I replaced front coilovers and rear springs and shocks. Did KYB OEM Strut Plus OE like replacements for the front and rear shocks and then I got the AC Delco Professional Rear Coils after reading the MOOG don't fit. The AC Delco fit around the rear perch but do not sit flush so they pop when the rear axle articulates. Also they are so stiff.
I need some advice on sorting the ride.
The front springs are under sprung for my V8 but they did lift my front end about 2" from the saggy blown out OEM’s.
Current height at the running board is 12 3/4" front 13 1/4" rear and 34.5" front 36.5" rear fenderwells with 265/70 KO2's with 5psi in rear helper airbags and my 150lb drawer system out. I have no rubbing with the KO2's. The rear springs are so stiff, they only ride well when I am towing a trailer.
My first and primary goal is to order replacement rear springs asap as the rear feels like a pogo stick.
I have tested out various lift heights using jacks and my end goal is about 1.5" lift in the front and 1.5" in the rear to keep the same rake. The 2.5" net lift spacers look off with the new tires and current springs.
The problem is I think the front spring/strut combo is adding lift so I have no idea what to order to wind up with my end goal of a "bit" higher with .5" running board rake remaining. I do eventually need to get some stiffer springs for the front. I would replace the entire setup again but this truck was 6k so need to stay reasonable. Plus my offroading is limited to 1-2x a year. The midwest is the worst.
