4.7 Injector flow rate - and upgrade options

Hi Guys,

Don't hate me, I've strayed over from the 3rd gen side..

I'm really struggling after much googling to find out what the factory flow rate is on the 4.7 2UZ injectors... I'm guessing they are "250ish" (The best I can find so far was a single source on a service manual saying "224-276 cc's")

Initially pre VVTi (Dark blue)... but I'd be interested to know if the later VVTi ones are interchangeable (Brown???), and if so what their flow rate is.

I've just sourced a TRD supercharger, but it looks like my "air assisted" 3UZ (1UZ VVTi/3UZ) injectors wont fit.. so I need a replacement set!

Failing that, do you guys have a go to upgrade path for injectors?

Thanks,

Charlie.

After a little more digging I found an ebay seller stating they are 250CC, which is about where I guessed.

What are you guys doing for upgrades? There seems to be *nothing" when I search!

These guys made some custome injectors for me for my supercharged 3rd gen. I see no reason why they would not make some for you

When I visited the Deatschwerks site the only Toyota model they list is a Celica and no Toyotas at all after 2005, nothing else!

Thanks guys, great information!

I think I may have also found a "cost effective" injector upgrade, - although they are a little larger than planned.

Mazda RX-8 "red" injectors look to be the same shape and size as 2UZ. They are a 12 hole pattern so should give good atomisation, and rated at 350CC, 14.4 ohms.

More Details here - (Looking at that they are also Toyota Tacoma, which might make them easier to obtain for you guys).

I've actually ordered a single used one cheap off Ebay, I'll confirm if it fits!

That DW site is great, the calculators are really handy! - if I go with the RX-8 ones I know I can get my desired power at 72% duty.. so maybe they are not quite as oversized as I thought!

Hey guys... an update for the sake of the search engine...

RX-8 Injectors FIT!

It's actually a Landcruiser 100 2UZ fuel rail, on an Early TRD supercharger as the "manifold" - but the fitment is the same.

Excuse the state of the manifold.. - the bottom seal is missing but they fit. the impedance looks correct, and the plug pattern matches, - so these should be a straight swap. I've ordered a full set.

As mentioned above, they are rated at 350cc... at 3 bar (43 psi)

Factory RX-8 runs them at 56.5 psi, rating them at 495CC (and very good atomisation).

Denso part number: 195500-4430

13.8 Ohms impedance. (yes the info I've looked up here seems to vary... Must be a Mazda forum thing )

Pretty much the perfect fit. if you need larger, look for the RX8 Yellow injectors.. same fitment but 450cc @ 3 bar.

Hope this helps save someone some time in the future!

Thanks for the info man. Finding fuel information on my RX7 is pretty easy but hardly anyone does anything on the 4Runner so finding injector / pump / fuel rail info is slightly more difficult. Did you have to get any custom programming to run these properly?

No problem!

In all honesty, I've still not fitted them!

I'm going full standalone as the 1UZ-VVTi that I run is 10.5:1 compression ratio, so I need fine control over what the timing advance is doing for any hope of not grenadeing it.

Ah gotcha. Too bad you can't run the UCON EMS from URD. It'll adapt to whatever setup you need on the fly.

How does this compare to the 13 hole injector upgrade?

I have the 270cc blue injectors in my 08 4.7. Did not get them from dirty deeds but they are 12 hole ( vs 4 hole OEM ). Got them off ebay. For alot less. Did not notice a huge difference except for a dead smooth idle and the sulfur smell is drastically reduced, almost nonexistent.
