Your Most Favorite 4Runner Features

OK, we've had a long thread about your least favorite features of your 4Runner.
In the spirit of the New Year coming, what are your most favorite features of your 4Runner?
When you are driving it, what makes you think, "goddam, this is a great vehicle."?

I'm with you! Happy new year and let's enjoy the wheeling in the new year!

For me, the most enoyable aspects of the 4Runner are the smooth quiet ride that contunes when when you wheel off road and then return to pavement. Always quiet and smooth and reliable.

I have four wheeled in 4Runners for years and they have always come through for me.

Good idea for a thread! This is my first 4Runner and there are a bunch of things I really like about my truck. First is the quiet ride at highway speeds. My wife, 2 kids and I went to dinner last night and we could hear each other speak clearly with out talking loudly while I was driving 75mph on the interstate. I also had the CD player on (quietly) and I could hear the music in addition to the conversation. I'm sure there are quieter vehicles out there, but that's pretty damn cool!

Next is the basic comfort of my truck. In September I drove from Atlanta to Kansas to a music festival and then back to Atlanta by myself. Well, just me, my iPod and two guitars. That's 16 hours of driving each way. I was tired, but I really enjoyed the drive.

I really enjoy the truck over all , the best thing it handles like a car , rides like a truck , off road is fantastic ( even stock ) and it is full time 4WD V8 !!!
Goes like hell !! Very positive feel to it .

Hey pickerdd,
Thanks for your comments. I agree with all of them.
About the guitar photo under your name.
What is it? The pic is too small, but it looks like a really pretty git.
I've got a Collings C-10, Adirondack/Mahogany, a sweet little gal.
What are you pickin'

Hey jpalaska. It's my '39 D-18. I also own and play a little '43 0-18. Both are great guitars. I've owned a bunch of Collings guitars over the years. I believe that Bill Collings and crew build the best new instruments. Check out my web site on Collings Clarence White guitars.

I've only had my 4Runner since Dec. 11, and have driven it about 500 miles on snowy and icy streets.
My favorite features so far are the solid, quiet, powerful, and safe feeling of it. The interior cabin is very comfortable and the visibility is terrific.
The exterior is stylish, and sets the 4Runner apart from the 'boxy' look of most SUVs. I love the color I got.
It's a pleasure to drive, no matter what the weather and road conditions are. I can't wait to take it off-road on some scenic pioneer roads and mining trails next summer.
I'm really lovin' it.

And your waiting to for summer because......?

We had a rare snow storm this week in the Tucson area. I ran up the back side of the Catalina mountains just north of Tucson today and played in the snow. I was really impressed with the traction controls in the snow. Here are a few pics of the day's run.

Hey Brad,
You call that 'snow'?
Up here we call that a 'powder dusting', you know, like dusting a cake with powder sugar!
Just kidding, those photos are awesome!
I especially like the first one with palm trees in the foreground with patches of snow in the background. Is that Mt. Lemon? I've been there several times, and man, you live in terrific 4Runner country!

The first shot is farther west along the Catalinas looking north at the Finger Rock/Pusch ridge area. The rest of the shots were taken on the back road to Mt Lemmon comming out of Oracle. :-)

You have a good memory.

I agree, it was really not much more than a dusting but still fun to play in. The top (near 9000') got about 12".
