Rattle when truck is in Drive (rattle stops in park/reverse/neutral)

Hey fellas,

I'm new to the 4runner world so still learning all the quirks and common issues with these trucks. I'm limited in mechanical knowledge but do know most of the basics. I bought a 2006 2WD 4.0 V6 SR5 from a guy 3.5 weeks ago and when I test drove it, there were no abnormal noises whatsoever. 1 week later I noticed it making a noise when I shifted into drive and cut the wheel to get out of a parking space. The noise went away quickly and was pretty faint so I didn't think anything of it. However, fast forward 2.5 weeks later to today and now the rattle happens anytime I shift the truck into drive, even if I'm not cutting the wheel. If I do cut the wheel, it seems to get a little louder but when I shift back into park, or reverse, or neutral, the clicking goes away quickly.

I have attached a link above to a youtube video I just uploaded of the truck making the noise... Any thoughts on what this could be?

Could be the heat shield above the exhaust, mine only rattled at low RPMs in drive. Didn't really notice it as much in reverse or neutral. Take a look and see if its loose. It's a metal pan looking thing (kind of like the ones you BBQ in). I just ripped mine out, most people do the same. Don't need special tools, just climb under it and yank on it.

I've read where that seems to be a common source of the noise so I will definitely check it out. I snuck out to the car to make the video but back in the office now so I'll check that out this evening and keep ya posted if that's the fix.. Hopefully it's that simple!
