Suspension refresh on 05 SR5

I recently bought a 2005 SR5 V6 with 144k on it, one owner. I got the maintenance records off the Toyota site, and I didnt see anything on shocks, etc. (looked under truck and still look like originals). Im wanting to replace the shocks and springs, not really looking for a lift. What would be your suggestions for replacements? Already looking at Bilsteins for the shocks, maybe their springs as well (again, not really looking for a lift).

Also, my train of thought has me wanting to replace any/all bushings while Im doing it, ie: sway arm bushings, CA bushings, etc. Since Im already in there and have everything apart and the few bushings Ive looked up so far arent really expensive vs my time to take everything apart again and again to replace later.

So, what would you suggest for replacing and who should I get them from?

I think most people go Bilstein in, I'm not sure what springs would match to keep stock height. If you wanted to level it at the very least, you could do OME883s paired with a matching shock. Now regarding bushings, I upgraded my suspension from stock at about 150K miles and I replaced all the bushings I came across. Swaybar bushings especially as they were cracked. I wanted to do end links and a few other things as well but was not able to get them ordered in time.

I'm going through a similar planning process now, and I think I'll stay with Toyota shocks and springs. I don't want any lift either, and these OEM parts seem to be of very high quality.

I can't think of any downside to staying with OEM. Can you?

So far I think Im going with KYB shock/strut set for the fronts for a direct swap, and KYB shocks for the rear and OEM springs from an online Toyota dealer ($63.12/ea). Right now AutoAnyting seems to have the best prices Ive found on the KYBs and they have a rebate going on for getting all 4. The free s/h and no VA tax is nice too vs Amazon or local auto stores.

I heard the kyb on the 4runner felt like a boat.

My experience was I tried a number of different "cheaper" setups, and ultimately went to the 5100's. If I only wasnt such a cheapskate, I would have saved so much by just buying the 5100's in the first place.

you have 2 shock options, bilstiens 5100 thats adjustable, and the standard 4600 thats not. alot of the forum user perfer the 5100 so they can lift the front up a little to take out the rear rake look. 4600 is pretty much a standard shock that wont lift anything. with the springs aging, 5100 would be better, but i still think changing out for new springs is better with new shocks.
