Organizing Emergency gear in cargo area
There was recently a thread regarding all of the emergency gear / tools everyone keeps in their cargo area. I was wondering how all of you store all of the random odds and ends. I recently bought a 26" toolbox by IRWIN (I like the fact that my name is on it ;) ) and it seems to fit everything that I need.
I use "CONT-ACT" which is a rubbery material you can buy at home depot to secure it to the ground, its amazing how little it moves just sitting on that peice of material. I also have it strapped to the metal hooks behind the second row seat just to make sure it doesn't move.

I have it in a bag in the back strapped into the metal hooks back there. I think those metal hooks are for child seats, but since I'm single and without rug rats they do that job just fine.

Nice job. Since I have the double-decker (and use it), then I have a 20" Stanley toolbox and a nylon bag under the shelf. Also keep a short cardboard box for small things you might buy on errands.
That rug anti-slip material is great! I've had it under the toolbox for quite a while -- a great, cheap investment.

yah it really is, I was shocked with just how well it actually works. My toolbox went from sliding all over the place to not budging at all. It was $3 and some change at home depot for those thinking of trying it... it's great around the house as well

What dept. of HomeDepot can you find the CONT-ACT in? I am sure I would eventually find it, but I know I will never find someone at my local HD to point me to the correct area. They tend to have 1 person on duty for every 100 customers.

actually thats a good question... my father had a hard time finding it and when i went to look i happened to find it on a random shelf of light bulbs. I would assume they should be around the hardware section however

You can try Costco if there's one in your state. However, they only carry tan, white and blue. It's in the kitchen or tools/auto area in mine. It's $6-10 for 24"x20'.

I use the anti-skid material for carpet. It's usually near the area rugs.
