DRL mod disabled auto power window and headlight time-out

O.K. I installed the DRL relay on my 2006 4-runner SR5. The DRL function worked as advertised. However, I noticed that:

1. My auto power window on the driver side no longer worked
2. The factory headlight timeout also was disabled (in case you left the lights on and forgot about it).

Does anyone have any additional information on this issue? It's a hard trade-off to have DRL and no auto-power window.

Thanks! and
Happy New Year!

You are right!!! RX900

The system did "rel-earn" everything. It took about 30 minutes (maybe less, but I was driving it around).

It's pretty scary how changing a mechanical relay changes the parameters to the ECU and the system re-learns itself.

thank you very much!

If you unplugged the battery, see this thread:

I did not disconnect the battery terminal. Maybe I should have as a safe thing but I didn't. However, to get to the fuse box and install the relay, I did have to unplug all the connectors to the fusebox so that maybe equivalent to disconnecting the power to the ECU?

sorry about the duplicate, I did try to delete it as I realized I posted in the wrong area under accesory for sale.
