Love this! I have some ply laying around from a cabinet project. Might just make this with camping season in full swing.

Went camping at Big sur!

I've been out and enjoying/testing/abusing these drawers - still a 10/10 experience.

Wow thanks so much for these plans! That's a beautiful thing to give them out for free. My wood working skills are next to none but I can see myself definitely building this. Has anyone added a sleeping platform to this?

Yeah I'm curious as to a sleeping platform as well, I'd like to build out the whole back of the Runner rather then just the trunk. Never use the back seats anyways.

I've been mulling over it but haven't gotten anywhere yet. I might design something for the double seat and leave the third up yet.

Take it slow and follow the steps in the plans you'll be all good.

@Joex481 @trippyelephantx
Yes I've added sleeping platforms to mine. Installed 5 extra Threaded inserts in the front of the drawers (behind the Back seat), then made 5 "legs" that sit on bottom plate where the drawers are mounted to the Truck and screw into the the inserts. 2 1/2" plywood platforms to match the 60 / 40 seats that rest on the legs and on the flipped up seat bottoms. Sleeps 2 adults no problem.

See Below for some shots from my Sketchup design based on the Adventure Index Plans, showing the Sleeping platform and legs.

I can run with either side seat up or down, or both up/down depending on who and what I'm running with on a trip.

A few sleeping in your 4th gen tips:
* Be sure to park as level as possible. Ouray Co. does NOT make this easy.

* Keep your key fob handy. You need to unlock the doors with it while inside or the Horn goes off as soon as a door is opened.

* Gaffers tape is your friend to black out the blinking lights that suddenly seem to light up the whole damn truck.

That's awesome! I love that you kept the ability to use the back seats.

Question tho,

What's all that hanging plywood being supported by? When you go to lay down.

Would it be possible to get in truck pics?

Thank you.

I did not model the interior of the truck so that is all missing from the pics for clarity. The hanging plywood seen above is supported by the Rear seat bottoms when they are folded up against the back of the front seats. The area under the hanging plywood offers additional storage on the flat backs of the folded down rear seats. I can then use the Child Restraint hold downs and the 2 D-rings that hold down the drawer system to tie things down.

Yes, I'll try to get pics this weekend. Been a rough week at work and have not been home with any daylight left to grab some shots.

Alright, stupid question time...

For those with a stove on the drawers, does your interior ever smell like the food you just cooked? I'd imagine if you had your doors open and the breeze was the right direction, it would, but what about w/ doors closed and just the hatch open with a breeze?

Not that I mind the smell of bacon.

Haha yes I'd rather it smell like bacon than me and the wife not showered for 7 days!

I try to fry bacon on the outer most burner to keep any grease pops off my mattress but I guess I've never noticed (or maybe just haven't minded) the interior smelling like whatever food I just cooked. If it does smell like food it's not for long. I also don't even wipe down the stove every time I use it so there could be some old grease and spills in it til I get home. Never noticed any bad smells.
