Uses for Storage Compartments
Hi All,
As I ponder the interior of my fine new toy, it seems to me that some of the storage compartments ('Auxiliary boxes') are sort of - well - useless.
The box under the heating controls - WTF is that good for?
And the little box in the left rear ('rear tire house').
Even the bigger area with the straps on the right side rear is just kind of weird....
Have any of you come up with some good logical things to keep in these places?

I keep a prodigy brake controller in the compartment under the heater controls. In the back, I have a tow strap, maglite (rechargable), first aid kid, and the tow hitch.

The rear box has my tow straps and if I am taking a long trip somewhere I put flares and other emergency required equipment. The straps are nice so the stuff doesnt bounce around everywhere.

I strapped a fire extinguisher into the rear right and it fits perfect. I also keep jumper cables, air compressor, flashlight and tire pressure gauges in there. The small wheel well compartments are used for straps, fuses, bulbs and misc stuff. I also put an umbrella in the jack compartment for those few rainy days here in the desert

The compartment underneath the heater controls is useless.
And the rear tire house in the cargo area, I use one for tire pressure gauge & a ziplock bag w/ (2) pairs of latex gloves. In case of a flat.
And I use the other one for my cargo net & wheel lock.
And I use a fruit box from Costco to organize my other stuff.

In the compartment under the heater controls, I keep cell phone charger and headset. In the two small bins in the rear, small tie-down straps. Right rear compartment (where the subwoofer would go) is windshield cleaner and miscellaneous stuff. And in the jack compartment is the emergency blanket and small fold-up shovel.

Under the climate control, nothing.
Above the left wheel well, cargo net.
Above the right wheel well, gloves and large trash bag to hold a flat.
Right side compartment, none--JBL sub.

Storage compartment under heating controls is used as a trash bin. The right rear storage compartment holds a tow hitch, air compressor, and jumper cables. The compartment above the wheel well holds a tow strap and the other side holds a tire repair kit.
I also carry a back pack with gloves, emergency food rations, rope, mini shovel, water purifier, flash light, and survival gear. I take this on long trips.

Same basic stuff others mentioned in the rear. Altoids and tooth picks under the climate control nobs.
Nobody mentioned the secret compartment in the glove box, which is pretty cool. It's a secret what's in there...

It's also a perfect place for the owner's manual.
