need help hooking up aux back up light relay, which wire powers the back up lights?

i have gone blind looking over service manuals with no info at all found

im trying to find the basic wiring diagram for the rear tail lights that shows the power wire for the back up lights.

does anyone have a link that shows it or can tell me which wire it is? i am not just going to start randomly stripping wires and testing to find it and cause electrical problems by doing that so i need some help here.

i have the LED tail lights on my 06 4r that has the twist in turn and back up bulb sockets

i am trying to hook up a relay to run aux back up lighting

thanks for any help you can give me

Just splice into the reverse lighting for some aux lighting when in reverse! much more simple...or you can tie into the hitch harness...

i cant because there is no wiring to tap into.

you can see it here https://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-4-RU...!US!-1&vxp=mtr

its an all in one factory oem LED tail light and the wiring harness plugs into the center and feeds everything.

its just a bundle of wires going into a circuit board

that is why i need the wiring diagram, to know which color is for the backup lights

All you do is remove the taillight and connect to the wires going to the reverse bulb. Super simple.

If your’s is equipped with a 7-pin trailer connector, you can power your auxiliary reverse lights with it.

The reverse signal wire runs down the driver's side kick panel and floor trim. Search the back up camera install posts. I tapped into it when installing the back up camera, then tapped off the same wire when I did my led aux pods attached to reverse.

oh well, i had a power supply issue

i got the aux backup lights all wired in and the relay all hooked up and working and finished tidying up the wires but im not getting power to the relay.

all 7 pin wiring harness say the blue wire is the power wire so i hooked into it, but i found out that was wrong and it has no power on it.

so just by testing the pin outs, and then looking behind the plug for the wire colors that line up to it, it "seems" to be the brown wire that has power to it all the time.

it got dark so i quit for the night but tomorrow i will have to stick a pin in that brown wire and test it for voltage to confirm that is the one i need to connect to.

and from past experience i know everything toyota uses a white wire with black strip for the ground wire.

where i got stuck yesterday was tapping off of the 7 pin trailer plug power to feed the switch for powering the lights. the wiring diagrams i could find all agree the blue was the power/electric brake wire but i guess its different on toyota since it has no power on that wire.

well its hard to tell on the back of the plug if the wires go straight through of if they might turn inside the plug and connect somewhere else.

the ONLY pin i found power on is directly in front of where the brown wire comes out of the back of the body for the 7 pin plug socket but its bulky so i have no idea if its a straight through alignment connection or not. i am going to test the brown wire first and if that is not it i will try the yellow you suggested next.

as far as i know there should be an electric brake wire with 12v power all the time to activate a brake solenoid to release the electric brakes. everything i have seen said that is always the blue wire yet my blue wire has no power on it. which seem strange since those plugs are supposed to be universally all the same pinouts and connections with just any differences being made at the pugs to the trucks wiring plugins
