Random long crank time

2003 v6 230000 miles

This last week I have had longer than normal crank while trying to start the 4Runner. Normal crank time 1-2 second. It’s worse after extended time sitting. It will also low idle when for a few seconds when it has trouble starting. If I I drive then shut it off and start it up with in 30 minutes or so it it starts normal. I can cycle the ignition 2-3 times and still cranks longer than normal after sitting a few hours, the next time it will start like normal.

At this point I have not got any CEL codes. I have checked what I can with my tools. New battery ,new plugs within last year.

What would be the most common problem to attack first.
Fuel pump/ pressure system
Starter
Injectors
Bad gas
Evap system

Any point to start would help

If you are having really crappy gas mileage it may be bad gas. It may be worth a try to put in some gas treatment to see if that clears up the issue. I know with mine if its cold outside it takes a little longer to start but as long as it doesn't sound like its struggling to turn over the engine I don't feel like that would be a starter issue.

take out the jumper fuse, this way you don't need to disconnect the battery, then clean the throttle body and maf sensor if you haven't done those. also a dirty filter might need changing. after 30 mins, put the jumper fuse back in, start the truck and let it idle for 15 mins with no load, you can reset the radio stations at the same time. truck should start back up normal. it also don't hurt if you do a fuel treatment.
