Got in my 4Runner today and started to accelerate and was met with an awful shaking and blinking CEL, ran my code reader on it and got P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire) so I swapped the boot over to another cylinder and got a misfire on it as well. Quick run down to Advanced Auto and picked up another coil boot and everything is running great now!

I planned on getting the Denso brand but they did not have any in stock. This Intermotor brand has good reviews so we will see how it goes.

New Head Unit and Backup Camera

Soundstream VRCP-65
Just installed this new head unit I received for Christmas. It was fairly cheap for having Apple Car Play and had really good reviews.

Backup Camera
Also installed a backup camera. I went with the one that just screws in with the license plate bolts looking back I should have gone with the one that replaces that license plate lights. If anyone has done an anytime camera mod that would be sweet if you could link it.

What route did you take for the back up camera wiring? Across the knee bolster and then down one side of the car at the floor then up the D pillar into the hatch wiring loom?

I've got a Pioneer unit I will be installing when I pick up my T4R next week and plan to install a back up camera (and maybe a front camera with switching capabilities if I can).

That's exactly what I did down the driver side. I would love to do the front camera but my head unit only has one camera input. The hardest part of the install was running wires through the wire loom.

I was looking into something like this (not necessarily this exact one)

https://www.ebay.com/i/251873437139?chn=ps

This would allow me to have a switch to toggle between front and rear.

That would probably work really well, I may look into using that.

Updated Head Unit Pictures

Busted out the big camera and took a few pics of the head unit, thought y'all might enjoy them.

Please excuse the dust...

Flip Style Key From Ebay

Just purchased this flip style key from eBay for about $40. Took it to the dealership and they cut it for free. They were a little hesitant about cutting it and told me it would not cut right but it turned out really good. Programmed it following an instruction video on YouTube. all the buttons work as normal and the trunk button acts as the rear window button. I love this key and it takes up a lot less room in my pocket than having a separate key and fob.

Trunk Button Window Operation

Does the trunk button operate the window up and down? If so, do you have the link for purchase. Thanks.

It controls the window down. I don't think you're able to use that button for the window up function on any remote. Here is the link ALin1 SWITCHBLADE KEY REMOTE FOR TOYOTA HYQ12BBX CHIP DOT RFID KEYLESS ENTRY FOB | eBay

Huh, I would have said that is a VW key. Cool!

How do you like the head unit? I want to swap one in with BT/Car Play. I've never understood the point of back up cams, but they seem popular.
