When my 3rd gen had 160K miles on it, I did Pittsburgh PA to Yellowstone and back over three weeks. Drove 3500 miles on that trip. All I had to do was fill it with gas.
Road trips are a state of mind. 3500 miles is the equivalent of driving to and from work each day for 3 months, yet you would not worry about that. Know what I mean?

I’ve driven coast to coast in a 4runner twice. And from the top to the bottom. I even did a 17hr day once with the seat being the only problem. After a few hours the lumbar support gets pretty uncomfortable at every setting. Sounds like you’re taking car of her!

You should be good!
After buying mine with 164k miles (05 V8 4x4) I took it from Houston to Austin About the same drive you will do) and it went flawless.

Another good thing for you: On top of doing the maintenance you already did, you have actually driven it to ensure there are no leaks, all is well settled, belts are good, etc. If something was to happen after a big maint, it would have happened already.

Enjoy!

You're idea of a long road trip is more like a little jaunt...that's nothing. Keep the maintenance up and a keen eye on wear parts and you'll be fine.
And check out this link for list of top 10 cars to hit 200k miles... 6 of 10 are Toyotas including the 4runner.
https://www.consumerreports.org/car-...es-and-beyond/

Get on the road and enjoy the adventure.

Appreciate everyone’s feedback. Pretty awesome to hear all these road trips with no sweat! Made it here this morning about 8am central time. No issues at all. Kinda just want to drive now and not stay in College Station haha

Appreciate you guys!

Check diff/tranny oils, make sure the brakes are good, coolant, you'll be fine.

I took my '06, 110k mile 4runner on a roadtrip from Pennsylvania to Georgia last fall. The speedometer died in Georgia. Had to drive home with no speedo. Took it to the shop when I got home and they said speedo was working fine when they tested. Problem has not reoccurred since.

Just did the timing belt, water pump, and coolant flush about 7k miles ago, and just changed the oil about 2K miles ago. Temperatures here are expected to be in the 90’s this weekend. Just wanted to get your opinion on road trips you’ve taken in warm weather.

Thanks in advance!
I have just a hair under 200K on my 2004 and i drive it an average of 1000 miles a week. In two weeks we are taking it on 2k trip with over half being on unimproved forestry roads. as long as you have done the maintenance i wouldnt worry about the truck.

I do lots of road trips. My 4Runner was up and down the east coast 2 years ago when I was moving from NY to SC. My truck had 160,000 miles on it and I did the 10hr drive several times. Only stopping for food and gas. I now have 178k miles and no problems.
The important thing for long trips are:
tire pressure and keep your eye on the temperature gauge.

Have fun!

Nice! Good luck and be safe on that trip!

I try and make sure everything is working correctly and all fluid levels are good, no leaks, etc. I'm constantly popping the hood on this truck to double check everything and I've never seen anything out of the ordinary. I might start taking some road trips more often with her

2007 4runner has been driven from Florida to Canada (Niagara Falls) round trip. Every summer I do a family trip to NC which is 9 hours away. Funny thing, wife drives a newer car but I put
more trust in my ride because it is a 4runner. The worst thing that happened on my travels was one of the TPMS sensor went out so I had that irritating warning light on my dash.

Buddy of mine went with me on a road trip and rented a vehicle. After being in my ride, he went out and bought a newer model 4runner and has not rented a vehicle since!!! These vehicles are very reliable as long you keep up with the maintenance!!

Just returned from a road trip to Mississippi yesterday.

1500 miles roughly round trip. AC on medium/low the entire time. No issues at all.

Currently at 171k.

Here's to 200k more!

Just make sure you maintenance is up to date. Keep oil fresh and you should not have any major issues. Mine is sitting at just over 140k and it is a 2005. I have taken it on several road trips in last year to Colorado (1,400 mile round trip) and North West Arkansas (500 miles round trip). I am fixing to go on another trip hear soon to Arkansas. If you feel a little uncomfortable going on a road trip in a high mileage vehicle get a AAA membership. I got one for just in case since I drive a lot.
