What part of maine? We just got back from an amazing vacation in the moosehead lake area/ Spent an entire week exploring logging roads and trails.

I was living in a town called caribou, its about a 4 hour drive north of moosehead lake. Very rural and small, surrounded by enough logging trails you could not see people for months

I saw a youtube video where the guy lives in Boston and drives out to Utah and Colorado quite often. He says he lives on the road when he does his road trips.
He is driving a Landrover tho.

What he didn't tell you is he has two memberships for AAA Premier roadside assistance. One that came with the Landrover and one he bought himself because he needs the extra mileage.

2 Years ago I drove a 1,900 mile round trip from Wisconsin to Louisianan in my V8 '04 4runner sport. I had, I think 130,000 miles on the odometer at the time.

Nothing crazy but Gramps isn't doing so hot so I loaded up the car, got mom and sis and headed down to NC to visit for the weekend before we all had to be back at work. A solid 1100 mile trip but nothing crazy. Hit 160k as got back into town. Did an oil change while I was down there as I would have hit my 5k mark on the way back. Figured it'd be smart to get fresh oil in before we came back.

AZ to OR and back last Thanksgiving. Zero issues.
But being an OTR truck driver, that wasn't a "road trip". I drive 3,000 miles every week.
But for many a 3 hour drive is not the norm.
But in the OPs perspective, I rode my $60, 30 year old, Yamaha from CA to Canada and back when I first got it running.

Let's see....

2020
- 10,000 mile road trip over 2 months. IL, MN, SD, CO, NM, TX, AZ, CA, NV and UT.
- 5,000 mile road trip over 15 days. IL, IA, NE, CO, WY and MT.

2021
- 7000 mile road trip over 4 weeks. IL, MO, OK, TX, NM and CO

I also drove to FL twice last year to visit family.

I find the 4Runner very comfortable to drive. She doesn't move to fast but she is comfortable.

I have about 110k on my 07 and drove pulling a heavy 12' uhaul trailer from South Carolina to Phoenix AZ. The trip was pretty uneventful other than bad gas mileage. So that's a little over 2000 miles.

190k on the clock currently.

I've driven back and forth between SoCal and NorCal several times. Longest drive was about 13-14 hours at once. Mostly freeway/highway.

Just did a 10 hour trip to the Sierra Nevada from home. About 10 hours or so. Fully loaded with a RTT, myself and my fiancee, and our 2 dogs. Was a 10 day road trip. No issues. I trust my 4R.

Edit: About 1400 miles round trip for the road trip.

169k and just took a 1300mi round trip road trip to Rocky Point. 4R did awesome. I wish the gas mileage was better but oh well, I knew the price when I modified it lol.

I put close to 20k on my old 2005 V6 in a month and a half one summer. From Virginia up to Labrador/Newfoundland Canada then to Seattle then all the way back to Virginia with a stop to wheel for two days in Moab. Only failure was blew a tire on a gravel road. Had >200k at that time.

Sold my condo a few weeks ago.
Spent time checking the car over getting ready to live out of. Removed the daystar front pucks but kept the 1" lift on rear as I will be slightly loaded down. Brand new radiator and hoses and fairly new higway tires and matching spare.

205k miles 2005 v6.
Tools, art supplies, food, tent, guitar and a cat.
I'll stick with basic camping most of the time in state parks, free sites and parking lots that allow it.

I start tomorrow! Hoping I find land to purchase somewhere along my travels
