i just dropped in a KN recently and i thought i could feel it mid to high rps a bit more, anything i can get. thank god not the 5th gen v6, heard theyre dogs!!

A few things worth noting here:
1. This test was done using drop in filters in the stock air box versus an aftermarket air train designed to increase flow to the throttle body
2. No other modifications were actually done in this test, and still the high performance filter did produce slightly more power and acceleration
3. The real gains can only be realized when you replace the MAF with one that has different mapping to make use of the increase in air flow. The throttle body spacer I feel is questionable as far as effectiveness, however anything that can help the engine breathe better is going to make a difference, so in theory it should help.

I can confirm on the Spectre unit I have, no whistle at all. Bizarre that some do and some don't. Not sure it matters, honestly

I've heard the same. Different mapping and I know they made some minor changes to the engine layout, not sure what those were. I know
