Replace Cluster Lens

Hi,
I am going to replace the speed cluster lens because mine is all scratched up from cleaning it. (Yeah my mistake)
However, I tried search and couldn't find the steps or directions on how to remove the cluster lens and install the new one. Does anyone have directions or "how-tos" to do the procedure?
Thanks everyone

Thanks LV4R. I just ordered the new part, cost $27.50, from my local toyota dealer

Here is the quote for future reference:

Quote:
biglatka,

First thing to remove is the panel below the steering wheel (just pull on it, it will pop out). There are two screws that are on the left and right hand side that will need to be removed. Second, is to remove the instrument cluster panel. There are two electrical connector that you will need to unplug, then remove the panel. Third, unscrew the the two screws that hold the cluster glass in place. There are two tabs on the left and right toward the bottom of the cluster, just push them in and lift up. It will take a little wiggling. The glass should pop up and separate from the cluster frame( you will see want I mean, hard to describe). Last, remove glass and install new one.

I received mine from Toyota Saturday, installation took less time then removal, because I had a clue. The only problem is there is a finger print on the underside of the glass, not going to mess with. No more scratches, but how long. Its really easy to remove. My direction is another story. Good luck.

Well, I just installed the new cluster lens and it looks great!

Here is a step-by-step clarification:

1) Remove the lower panel below the steering wheel
To do this:
a) Remove the 2 nuts on the lower part of the panel
b) Remove the plastic ring around the keyhole (not the lighted plastic part, the part that surrounds it.
c) Pull the lower panel from the car starting at the bottom. It should just pop right off
d) Disconnect the electrical cables if you need more room. (Center Lock cable, AC 115v, TRAC off, temperature sensor)
2) Remove the top half of the cluster. (Containing the cluster light switch, directional arrows, plastic bezel that separates the speed, fuel gauges, and tach)
a) Just pull from one of the ends and it should pop right off. Be careful not to break any tabs
b) Disconnect the blue and white electrical connectors from the top half of the cluster
3) Remove the cluster lens
a) Unscrew the 2 philips screws that hold the lens down
b) Gently push the bottom 2 plastic tabs and the top 2 plastic tabs
c) The cluster should pop right off
4) Replace the cluster lens with the new one using clean, new, rubber gloves to prevent finger prints and dirt
5) Put the car back together and enjoy!

Ohh sorry. I didn't take any pics.. Do you need pics of the finished product or at every step? If you have any other detailed questions, please ask! I'd be happy to help

No, it is ok, I thought you took some pics of the process, no worries.

I am lazy and hate to read, so I like pictures better. Thats all.

Video would have been really cool!!!
