here is an easy way with NO WIRE CUTTING

MAKE A NOTE AND LEAVE IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL THAT YOU DID THE MOD FOR FUTURE OWNERS.
I will change my tire sensors when i get my next set of tires....until then this was my fix.

CHECK PRESSURE OFTEN!

here I bypassed my sons 2007 4 runner.... the board is under the cover plate that mounts under the glove box.

Here is the module with the cable un plugged

here you can see how the clip holds the circuit board into the housing.

here the pins (they are different for the GEN 5).... its a 16 pin card (gen 5 are 12 pin so the jumpers they are different!!!!)

Here you can see below how I added a jumper on the circuit board corresponding to the pink black and the white black wires

(here is the jumper)

This worked today on 09 SR5 for me! One modification, Didn’t clip Pink Black. Just jumped PinkBlack to RedBlack with 3M Scotchlok and left PinkBlack connect to pin connector.

I need to definately try this on my son's 05. I am sick of the tpms light. I have installed and programmed 5 new sensors- spare included. They worked great and then started acting up- tpms light flashing and then went solid. I checked and pressures were fine in all 5 tires. Replaced sensors with schrader ez sensors this time. Programmed and relearned and all was good for 2 days. Tires of messing with it.

Question

Careful, ive seen it mentioned with:

pink/blk & white/blk
pink/blk & blk/red

Ive seen a video with pink/blk & white/blk, and then ive seen schematics with pink/blk & blk/red

According to the schematics on Page 1, why couldnt you simply cut the pink/blk wire and be done with it?

On the 2004 just use a Scotchlok to join the pink/black wire to the white/black wire. I did it yesterday and it works great...no more dash light.

Im tired of the tpms light since I removed my spare Tire because the steel cable was rusted to its core.

It's not terribly expensive for a new tire hoist/carrier $134, it no longer has a cable that can rust and seize up or break, the new design has a chain.

I wouldn't want to not have a spare.

Yes I know it is an option but I dont like having the spare under there and I plan to buy a dual swing out rear bumper.

Plus I have 24/7 roadside assistance so I just take the spare with me when I go for trails.

Anyway thank you for letting me know !

I might be a little slow on this, but one option is to unpluf the harness from the box and just jump those 2 wires on the harness connector and NOT plug it back into the box? If that's the case, I'm guessing the box is just for the TPMS and nothing else?

I do not think one of the options was to leave the harness unplugged. Here is how i did the bypass.
