2WD vs. 4WD Strut Height

Does anyone know the difference between the height of the front strut on a 2WD vs. 4WD? KYB has two part numbers, one for the 2WD and one for the 4WD, I'm assuming the coil spring or something else makes the 2WD's strut shorter.

What did you ever find out? I'm in the same situation now. I have a 2wd and wondering if I can swap with the 4wd model #

I was unable to find an answer for this, my assumption still remains the same, the coil springs may be a bit beefier to account for the additional weight compared to a 2WD.

your assumption is correct, the 4WD version has a slightly taller spring with a higher spring rate than the 2WD. would probably give at least 1.5" lift over stock.

the KYB coil over shocks (they are not struts) are ~10% stiffer valving & spring rate vs the factory shocks/springs, on a 4WD this will give a slightly firmer ride & about a 1" lift over stock which makes for a nice more level stance.
