For the prep with the trim I used a soft foam sanding block so I could get in all the corners. Next I wiped everything down with 90 percent isopropyl alcohol then after that was dry sprayed 3 layers of base coat (warmed the can up in hot water) then later went back over everything with three coats of clear. (Also heated up the can) I did not wet sand anything. There is a little orange peel but nothing I am going to worry about haha

How did you paint around the transmission shifter? I removed shift indicator but the indicator plate behind the trim piece appears to be permanently adheres to the trim. I’m not having much luck cutting small pieces of painters tape to cover the shift indicators. Also, how did you remove the trash bag holder?

I actually just cut the plastic tabs that hold it in place to remove the indicator to paint. Afterwards I just glued it back on. The trash bag holder takes some force but once open it pops out from the side

Thank you. I ended up doing the same thing with the shift gate. I’ll have to work on the trash bag holder tomorrow. I appreciate the reply!

Did you paint the silver door trim as well? If so how did you get it out?

thanks
