I’ve been thinking of trying this out in my 5th Gen because it’s a slug, but never once considered it for my 4th. To be honest I’m surprised it’s even being offered… really feel the 4th is dialed in pretty well.
I think it's a solution in search of a problem.

I don't know man, I think it's pretty awesome. It may be true that it helps the 5th gen more but the throttle response on my truck is improved.
You could easily swap it between your trucks to see.

Are you not geared up, or running really large tires where this is helping with the overall feel? Maybe it’s different for everyone.
I haven’t bought one yet, but ya, if I can swap it from the 5th or 4th id try it just to see what it does but the throttle response on my 4th lever really left me with any complaints… I also have regular cars, so it’s not like I am desensitized to truck peddle feel either.
Not gona lie… Apples to apples V6 vs V6 my 200k mile lifted 4th feels like it’s got more throttle response and get-up-and-go than the brand new 2018 Limited. Kinda sad when you think about it.

This is a little odd as I've been hearing the delay is worse on the 4th gen than the 5th, since the tech from the 4th gen is the same from 03-09, much older and the 5th's are better. But, again, might be subjective to what owners are used to and what other vehicles they've driven in the past.
My best advice is, if you think your truck feels a little laggy on the throttle and you've wondered why or are realizing it now, then this is something that will make it better. If you're happy with the truck and have no complaints on the responsiveness, then no problem.
I can say everyone that has tried one didn't want to remove it after they felt the difference. Now, this is NOT the same unit for all year 4Runners. The 5th gen unit is different, so 4th and 5th gens get their own units. When you order, you choose your year and that's how we know which one to send you.
For you, and those with a 5th gen, there's some more buzz here with some recent installs: 5th gen sprint booster comments, etc]
sprint booster on 4th gen, t4r link Still on sale for now and in stock

Burtman Industries Sprint Booster, V3 SALE! -Still some in stock at this nice price. Only about 6 left. After those are gone, takes a few weeks to get more.
***AND you don't have to mount anything if you don't want to! You can set it where you want it, then remove the cord, like an aux cable and keep in your glovebox in case you ever want to change it down the road. Many do this, that don't want to mount the switch. It remembers the setting for life.

In my case, I didn't realize how lazy the pedal was on my '07 until the Sprint Booster was installed. Just figured it was normal SUV behavior for a vehicle this large, whereas my wife's smaller Mercury Mariner 3.0L V6 with cable-driven throttle was much more responsive.
Last week while at Assateague on the over-sand area, I disabled the Sprint Booster and left it that way after we came off and reinflated the tires. Had to pull over after a few miles and set it back to Green 5, the lazy throttle was just awful.
