It’s a huge improvement, but the red settings seem a bit too much for proper shifting and drivability. I will experiment with the lower red settings more though to see how they work. I only tried red 5 so far, and knew in very short order that it wasn’t good for drivability.

PLEASE report back on your mileage after a while once you decide which setting works for you and you're driving sorta normally in your choice of the settings, either good or bad, that's the thing I haven't gotten an answer too before I decide if I want to get one!!

It will only effect mileage if you keep mashing the throttle etc, which many do to test it out when they first put it on (or like when you get a new exhaust on testing). After a few hundred miles as long as you drive it like you always drove it before, it not going to be more or less. Again, just drive your truck the way you always have, no decrease.
The best way to think of this is like having a loose throttle cable and tightening it up. For ex, the Honda S2000, they had a TSB for early models that left the factory with a lose throttle cable. People complained that there was delay when starting out in first gear and after shifting. The tsb has the dealer remove the slack out of the throttle cable, 2 min fix, to tighten it. Then a few years later the s2000 got drive by wire and was slower than the older models - the reaction time of the gas pedal. I've sold hundreds of these for other vehicles and some aren't as bad as others, but this one really make a big difference on the 4Runner.
Burtman Industries Sprint Booster, V3 SALE! -Still some in stock at this nice price.

I definitely will. I’m also curious about this as well, however, I suspect it’s as Jason mentioned about how you drive it after modding. I know that since installing my TRD duals, I love the sound during acceleration so much that I tend to take off harder than I did previously. I’ll likely do that with this mod for awhile just to play with it until I settle on which setting I like best. My mileage isn’t stellar at this point because I suspect one or more dragging calipers, so I average about 14.6 by the dash display, and I’ve hand calculated at 15 with my V8.

Thanks I'll look forward to your report on the MPGs compared to what you were getting prior to this mod!
I also assume it should be much the same but real life results tells the story best IMHO.

I'm glad gas mileage isn't a concern with these, or I wouldn't have sold this many. I started selling these back in 2006 for the 1st gen Honda Ridgeline. Those trucks were very bad with delay. All this unit is doing is eliminating the delay of reaction to the pedal, nothing to do with ECU mapping, maf, nothing. Just boosting the signal and undetectable.

Installed this weekend. Seems to work well. Makes a difference for sure and I like the adjustability. Thanks!

So, far, there has been no change in mileage, even though I’ve driven it a bit harder than normal while playing with this new toy, lol. I currently have it set at race 3, and I’m loving the performance. I think for basic, all around driving though, I’ll move it back to green 9. That seemed to be the best balance between smoothness, and acceleration response. The race mode is definitely fun, but might be too twitchy for someone else driving the truck who wasn’t used to it.

I installed it this evening, set to Green 9 and took a spin. WOW!! It really shines during part-throttle acceleration from cruising speed, e.g. passing, accelerating uphill. Also wakes things up during acceleration from dead stop, more of a positive launch when you put the pedal down than the factory buffered gradual throttle opening.
I dialed it back to Green 5 for errand-running just to get a feel for it, might try the Red settings after I get a good baseline.
Thanks for the price reduction, it was enough to pull me off the fence.

I'm really glad all you are happy with the upgrade. It's still funny to me how Toyota let these leave the factory like this.
