Lightbulb Touring Tire recos/update for late 2018??

Hey gang looking for suggestions. I've got few miles to go on current treads and looking for some happy tire buyers here in Fall of 2018. My 07 is driven gently, 2wd, 5100's all around, haven't been off road, no trailering, lightly loaded. I want the smoothest/quietest ride possible, highway and backroads.
The Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza have been pretty good: they grip well without being too noisy and they don't 'wander', until lately as they are about 70% gone. The earlier Michelin LTX MS/2's were quiet, but prone to wander and ugly in rain. Both wore well, I suppose.

What have you found that surprised to the upside?

thx

I have the previous generation General Grabber HTS on my 3rd gen GrabberTM HTS 60 | General Tire. Can't comment on backroad performance but they're pretty quiet and ride well on the highway, great in the rain too...the previous Firestones were horrible

Yokohama Geolandar H/T's came on my 07 2wd when I bought it used, so I didn't have any high expectations for a brand that I usually dismissed from consideration, but I couldn't be happier with their performance. Great in the rain, snow, ice, and high speeds.

I have read others say same about Yoko geolander.
My daughter just had Discount tire put on 4 Cooper touring tires for her Sub and says they cruise really well. Quiet to her ears anyway.

Michelin Defender LTX

i couldn't be happier with Michelins. I git 110k out of my old set of M/S2. They were quiet and gripped well all the way down to 2/32 tread. I just replaced them with the newer Defender LTX about 5 thousand miles ago. Great tires.
I got the P-metric ones. They are super soft and with 5100s the truck rides very very well.

did you get P-metric because you have no offroad or rough-road driving, loaded?

The most off road I get is the occasional forest service road or secluded camp site. These do fine for that. I occasionally tow a boat, they do alright, usually just add 2-3 psi in the rear tires
