My 2004 V6 has had Royal Purple in it since 2010...ZERO drips.

The one time i took scotties advice on SteelSeal...head gasket repair.
Needed new water pump and radiator after it killed the water pump and plugged up the radiator and started to run 190*+.

I have no following or friends and dont make money off the internet.
Just some guy that likes 4runners.

Good to know.

My 2005 4runner (150,000 miles on island where you can't drive to 60mph except 1 time a year) has had no engine problems since I bought it new (15 years), and I always wondered what to do if my HG failed.

If the HG is badly damaged I doubt anything but a new HG will fix the problem. I'd try the Steelseal. What have you got to lose? If it don't work, find your mechanic for a new HG.

I check my coolant level (in the overflow canister) twice a week. It is always on the same line, never low, but I still keep checking it 'cause it is a 15 year old 4runner.

Never had 1 overheat (OH), and don't want one OH!

I use regular conventional oil recommended weight, and change it every 5000 miles in the driveway! Taking it to the dealer is just a waste of time. They always ask me to leave it overnight. Takes 30 minutes with a filter in my driveway, on my time. Just don't overtighten the drain bolt.

I tried synthetic in my 2005 V6 4runner with 150,000 miles and I got lots of drips right away.

I switched back to conventional and the drips slowed down dramatically to a drop or so a week.

Synthetic oil is overhyped IMO. Better off with conventional and change it every 4000 miles.
I swear my engine got noisier on synthetic too.

Time to lock this thread, no new information being presented. Keeps getting bumped to the top pushing actual issues farther down.

You are STILL droning on about how your mom and dad have a place in the Bahamas and the boat that they bought.
You can’t even accurately quote easily verifiable historical weather data regarding the Bahamas. You do Not live in the Bahamas full time, let alone for any length of time.
Please video your conversation with Marlin Marine regarding Amsoil. You won’t.
You keep acting as though you have an understanding about what your dad is talking about around the dinner table, and posting your whiny bs misunderstanding of it.
You are comic relief, at best. Your mom and dad are not be impressed, or proud.
You were never in the military. You are simply afraid to ask someone who has been to answer the question regarding the name for prescription eyeglasses.
To sum it all up...
You are a fraud, poseur, a joke and someone willing to steal valor from real veterans.
Run along little boy.

Beat it AH!

About everything you said is not true. I have no parents in the Bahamas and never have. My dad has been dead 20 years.

You just stupid and FOS.

I never used Amsoil in any of my vehicles and never purchased the product.

You need to go fishing in your 40 footer. Ha! Ha!

507k+ miles on an '06 Sienna w/ the 3.3 with a steady diet of Redline 10w40 in Summer and RL 5W40 in Winter changed about every 13,000+ miles with filter based on oil analysis. (This van may actually do over 16,000 miles per change based on oil analysis)
I swapped over at 140k miles because it is actually cheaper than some other options.

Some people swear by pyramid scheme/MLM Amswayoil...

Oil has GROUPS,
Some lines of Amswayoil = GROUP 4 and a GROUP 5 is an oil like Motul, NEO, Redline.

Group IV tends to shrink seals.
Group V tends to swell then a little, lessening leaks on older vehicles.

You need a second job and make more money, don't you?

I ran this boat for 13 years as much as 75 miles a trip over open ocean to catch YFT and big MahiMahi. Gas is $5 a gallon in Nassau Seas can get rough over "open ocean".

Most wouldn't own a boat like this because they can do nothing much with it.

I was a HS All-American swimmer with a relay time that was faster than Mark Spitz Santa Clara relay time. Substantially faster. I was NY State 200 yard freestyle champ as a junior. I surfed in 10 foot seas and almost drowned once on a WO. I fished the $300,000 Performance42 for the exercise. Never saw a woman running a rig like mine or going 100 miles a trip every other week - for sport fish. Hardly ever saw another boat that would go where I went. Reason: three new Japanese reliable engines to get me home fast. Dangerous sport in lesser craft. Many were to slow. The 70 Sportfish Shogun would show up at the fishing spot when billionaire owner (Gould founder of computer company in 1980s) from Wall Street was alive, but they only trolled for occasional "hit".

42 Performance never developed a leak or crack in it's all fiberglass hull. Stronger than steeL and FAST.

I abandoned / sold the 42 foot Bahamasbahamas.com 15 years ago. I live in the Bahamas for 30 years. Used it to sport fish for dolphin and YFT. 95% of my trips were to an US AUTEC buoy where game fish hung around. I fished alone because my friend that can fish and filet had to work - except on weekends.
