April of '17 I installed the Pioneer AVH-X391BHS and the Crux SWRTY-61S in my 4runner. Also used a bypass module for the video/brake set-up, mostly so setting are accessible on the fly.

The only issue I had was the phone buttons/ bluetooth interface not working fully. That was resolved with a Pioneer firmware update in February of '18.

Head unit sounds great, even with the oem speakers.

Have you updated the firmware? Check Pioneer's website for instructions on how to do it, but it's fairly simply. Just need to download the update to a USB drive and then plug that drive into the USB port/USB extension used for the unit and sit back for a few minutes until it's done

I just installed an AVH-2550NEX. I wanted the USB accessible so I used some heavy-duty Scotch velcro to attach an aftermarket USB port under the passenger side dash next to the glove box. I will post a pic if it would be helpful.

The head unit is awesome btw.

I have an 05 LTD with JBL/Nav and had the Pioneer AVH-2550 NEX "professionally" installed. I use quotes because they did a crap job, can't even watch videos with parking brake on. Another issue is that the subwoofer isn't really working. It's working, as in it makes noise but I can only hear it if I'm standing right next to it. It's not loud and punchy like it was before installing the aftermarket unit. They used PAC RP4.2TY11 harness which is supposed to maintain factory amp. Fade and balance work. I'm about to tear it apart to fix the parking brake issue (going to bypass it altogether). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do to troubleshoot the subwoofer issue?

I am about ready to purchase a head unit and leaning towards Pioneer. But I see they just announced their new line at CES2020, so I'm hoping some of the current models will come down in price. I need capacitive touch screen.
