Bilstein 6112 on 2005 V8 4runner 4th Gen

Hi All, Trying to get clarification on the 6112 installs on my 2005 V8 4runner 4th gen. I'm trying to avoid driver side lean. I see plenty of post on off setting the snap ring. Not sure if i received a new version of 6112 but my instruction shows specific detail for V8 to match the snap ring position install. Anyone follow this instruction on the V8 and not get the driver side lean? I also plan to install the 5160 with toytec superflex that should give me a 2.5 lift. thx in advance.

Just add a spacer in the rear. I have the 1.5” DS spacer and mine is perfectly level with 6112s.

In my engineering opinion, better to preload the rear than the front.

I am as close to a clone of your setup you can imagine. I have a 2005 gx470 (exact same thing as V8 4runner). I just installed bilstein 6112s on the front and 5160 with toytec superflex in the back. I followed the instructions and put both sides at the top clip and there was no driverside lean. Also, I put a 10mm trim packer (spacer) on the drivers side in the rear. Still no lean.

Sweet feeling better now for this install. I also picked up a ARB Coil Spring Fitting Kit for the right rear coil to prevent driver side lean. thx a bunch appreciate the response big time.

how did the stance come out after the install. I'm hoping for level to slight rake in the front. i was going to do 2nd ring from the top or 5th one hoping the 2" superflex in the rear level it out. I think 5th ring supposed to give me 2.68" lift according to instructions.

I'm going down the same path, but with Wheeler's T12s in the rear. Just waiting for the 5160s to show up. I had the same question, and after a lot of searching, I think I've settled on setting both sides to the third position (1.89"), and putting an ome 10mm trim packer on the driver's rear. Not a lot on info out there, and the photos I've seen are inconsistent and so not much help. If you would post measurements and feedback after install I sure would appreciate it.

I retained about an inch rake.

I went 4/2 on mine with the V8. I like the stance and didn't want to get much more lift. It has a little bit of forward rake, but I don't mind it and it's far better than stock, in my opinion.

I like this.
This is more of the look I am gonna go for in my lift. More of a 3/2ish but the same look overall. I'm sorry but, I cant get behind the whole a$$ in the air stink bug look. Maybe it's the a$$ dragging lifted F-150 I've had for a few years. I also have a drawer system that is partially finished in the back right now. It's mostly going to be 3/4" ply so, she's a hefty thang!

Did the instructions that came with yours say to match the clip ring for V8s? curious to know if I got a new version w/ new instructions.

Hoping i dont have to go that route for this install. when i get new tires i'll plan on going on top ring for full 3" lift w/ new UCA..

Oddly, no. All mine came with was V6 instructions. So, I just added one ring to their instructions to compensate for the V8. I like how it sits and how it rides. It's definitely way better than stock.

Got them installed.
did the 5th ring on the 6112s. thought i had a major rake but it settled a lil more after a freeway drive. definitely would need UCA if i went to the top ring. went to get it aligned and noticed they put in some work to get it to spec. all is good. ride is great!
