FJ TRD suspension vs FJ TT suspension vs 5100 & FJ coils

Hello guys! Did a bunch of reading and the more I learn the more I get confused so figured I will start this tread so it might help people in the future as well.

I am looking for a way to lift my 07 sport V6 and found a summed it up to a few options. Please correct me if I am wrong in something and all advice are greatly appreciated.

1) Bilstein 5100 + FJ springs:

seems to be the most cost effective options (works out around $700). The adj shocks + new OEM springs will provide an approximate lift of 2" and will be a great and cost effective replacement of stock old XREAS. I pulled the trigger on stuff from amazon but found a few more deals so now debating if should return 5100 and go with one of 2 next options;

2) FJ TRD suspension (will be more expensive than the 1st option ($1000 for the kit + some extra work required to adapt the bushings) -- is it worth it?)

Kit includes:

2 Bilstein front shocks (6112's)
2 Bilstein remote reservoir rear shocks (5160's)
2 red front coil springs (1" taller than stock)

Can someone who has an expirice with such a lift give me a heads up of what kind of ride should I expect and what kind of lift? I dont want to go higher than 2" as I read that it will put an excessive strain on CV axels and may run into necessity to replace UCA and sway bar.

3) FJ TT suspension (will cost similar to option 1 but not sure if gives the desired lift)

A friend of mine is selling his almost new suspension (around 5kkm on it) for a similar price of 5100+FJ coils and I was wondering if there are any advantages of this type of the lift.

Bottom line is I want to find a cost effective solution for my truck. I am getting more into doing some trails and off-roading so it would be nice to have an extra clierence + my stock suspension is pretty tired. That being said I spent 90% of the time on pavement but I want the 4runner to look good there as well so thats why I am here.

Thanks for your time!

I swapped in 2013 FJ TT Bilsteins and springs on my 07. Only reason I went with it was I sourced it for a steal and I'm on pavement 99.9% of the time.

Still required a bit of modding with an angle grinder and step drill bit. If you want a drop in swap, this isn't the way to go.

Lift was around ~.5" when done. Definitely not the way to go if you want a noticeable lift or want to run bigger wheels.

Yeah that's a bummer as he offered me a really good price for it...

I will do more reading regarding the TRD pro kit to find how hard it is to swap it. Thanks!

5th gen TDR Pro

suspension 6112/5160 take offs or low mileage can be had from about 1/2 the cost of the FJ TRD kit. How every youd likely be shipping this from the states so im not sure how much more that would cost you with exchange rates and shipping. Just another option to consider.

The FJ TRD pro suspension cost me just over 1050 CAD to ship from America.
Purchased on eBay for 550 USD

How much are the other options for you?
