Too bad you can't start the sequence at the middle of the strip, the "outside-to-inside" pattern is the opposite of practically every sequential turn signal.

now if he do a custom board and led setup, that replaces the leds in the light already, he might be able to do that. this is going to take more time. keep up the good work like i said on facebook.

2006+ factory lights are perfect as it is and is an ideal upgrade for the 2003 -2005.

To each their own if anybody wants to redesign those tail lights.

I much rather see the 4th gen headlights be redesigned similar to the 2012-15 Tacoma headlights. That's a simple and updated look.

I had really wanted to but with how little space there was at the top as you may be able to see, I wasn't able to run the wiring up there without serious concern of snapping the led strips. It does look different though so I may have to go back in and look at another way to run wires

Thanks man, what is your username on the facebook group? I guess I completely missed that. and yeah overtime I want to rewire some stuff because the stock blinker function on these tail lights blows and really isn't safe. No one can see it blink when my parking lights are on which isn't good lol

Yeah I get that. The oem ones do look good, I had just wanted tail lights a while ago that were similar to the tacoma ones that had those white translucent strips on them but no one made anything similar. This was my solution but it's a work in progress

Yeah looks pretty tight. Maybe use two smaller strips and mount them by that middle reflector area (reverse light?) and have them start blinking sequentially from that spot.

How did you take those tails apart anyway, oven or heat gun then split apart or cut open with a Dremel?

That’s a really good idea. I’ll have to look into that. I may leave it for now though because this has been a pretty pricey project. I tried baking open the first set of tail lights and cracked the lens, then I tried the same on the second set and almost had it but it melted the housing lol. So this was the third set and I used a dremel on the back side to make a clean cut to open them up. Was by far the easiest way to do this.

Tail lights complete for now!

Just finished up the Tail lights for now for my 2006 4runner. They look really good and function well. I do wish I could have wired these to sequentially go from the inside out but I may work on that later just right now I have other things I have money put aside for. Here are some pictures and 2 videos
