He had to dent it because of the body lift.

The reason why it took so long for somebody to make headers for our trucks is because there is hardly any room down there.

Yeah, we get that... But sometimes you just need to put the hammer down right. If he was in my shop I could have come up with a better solution, if he just HAD to have those installed. Hell, I could have fabbed him up a steering shaft offset/relocation kit... Something.

But he was in his shop, with his truck, with his tools, spending his time and his money.

I guess I just have pride in things I do, and can't understand it when someone half asses something that they spent money in instead of solving the problem and doing it right. What's next? Solid steel rods instead of shocks?

The first step in trying to understand something usually involves asking an educated question; basically anything other than elementary school criticism paired with a Spongebob picture.

Next time try asking why he didn't want to reduce or eliminate his body lift.

Never said that he needed to remove his body lift. Why don't you let him answer then? And that was a question? I asked if it was serious.
I know I can come off as a dick, and my original reply was because I really thought there was no way someone did this to headers and was serious.

Your kidding right ?

The only thing Spongebob here are those headers, that header is beat to hell and back, he posted the info and pics for all to see. Thats a band-aid at best, certainly nothing to post and brag about.

However I did learn something, as I was looking into a 1 to 1-1/2 body lift myself and most likely down the road, mine will crack also.

1 it is !

Thanks

I had the same reaction as most of you when I heard about this "dimple" solution but if you would do your research you would find that "dimpling" the headers the way I did has literally no negative effect on the performance of the headers, if anything it actually increases it. There was a video of some guys on a MIG forum who did what I did to the entire set of headers from top to bottom and it actually showed an increase of 1hp on the dyno.

I am not the only one whose done this, you just wouldn't hear about it if you weren't looking for it 🤷

Results: Sounds way better then stock, performance as far as the "butt dyno" goes are definitely noticeable and my car does not "lag" nearly as much as before, much more responsive.

10/10 would do again.

Oh man, you guys are way too serious on here.... drink a beer and go rub one out...

His money, his stuff, we all do silly things... live and learn.

As long as he is having fun and no one died from it, no one should really care what he does. He is just sharing his experiences...

Now grab another beer, sit back and watch what happens next.

4th gen guys with a low GAF index, looks like you made it work just fine to me!

5th gen guys couldn't justify this while the bank still owns it.

Just for a bit of information. What those guys did in the video is no nearly what he did. But to each his own. They put dents... You completely caved in one side. I'm not worried about power. I'm worried about what the uneven pulses of exhaust will begin to do to the valvetrain, and combustion chamber over the next 10k miles or so.
