2006-2009 OEM Rear Bumper

So I was out last week with the fam and made the dumb mistake of backing into a concrete block, which messed up my bumper a decent amount on the right side. I was going to take that as an opportunity to purchase a CBI bumper with tire carrier during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales but was having zero luck with their site over the weekend.

My question is, are there any OEM options around that are at the $200 dollar mark, or less. Or... Are there decent aftermarket options out there that are comparable?

At this point I'm trying to push the full bumper upgrade until after I can do a suspension/wheel/tire upgrade, without paying a super inflated price.

Also, I'm open to any suggestions!

Thanks in advance for the input

I just talked to Matt at full force metal works in vancouver, WA. He says he can build a alumunium rear bumper with dual swingouts for 1500. He hasn't made one specifically yet for the 4th gen but his work looks extremely well done. He personally owns an 07 4runner and says as soon as someone pulls the trigger he'll use his own rig for the prototype and build one. I am going to go this route in the spring or summer, as Vancouver, WA is only a few hours from Bend.

@BendRunner is Matt running the bumpers on any other platform for a visual? Curious to see if there's some others out there running the fold out table

I'm in the same boat. Messed up my rear bumper on my 08. Got a few quotes. Bumper is about $250 for a CAPA certified one. Paint is the killer. All said and done it's about $700-800 depending on the shop. I would rather fork out $1500 for a metal one, but I don't really like any of the options on the market. I want something not bulky and very simple, maybe I'll check this Matt out in Vancouver and see what he can build. Would like to see some of his work for design style reference though.

Yep, check his instagram out. I really like the new front bumper he just made for a subaru. I will probably go with a similar design for mine. If you can dream it, he can make it. His work looks really good.

Checkout his instagram for some of his work. Maybe if we can get 5 of us to go in together we can get a group buy discount of some sort? He's been waiting on someone to call to make one for the 06+, so it could be us!

I just saw the roof rack he created for the 4th Gen... looks clean! I'm definitely interested on what the design would look like on the 4th gen.

His response:

Awesome I don’t have one design yet but I own a 07 do I’d love to get a design going and get one out there on the market!

I replied back asking when he thinks he might have one.

Painted body parts to match your 4Runner

If anyone is just looking to replace your rear bumper with the same thing. Check out Revemoto.com They sell aftermarket body parts, painted to match your 4Runner. Pricing is pretty good and turn around time looks to be like 3 weeks.
