4th gen dual battery tray??

I've searched high and low to no avail. Everything I've found has been for a 3rd or 5th gen. Anyone know of a dual battery tray to replace the stock one?

Thanks!

I used the Dirty Parts tray (says FJ Cruiser but it works just the same). It did not replace the tray in the stock location which can hold 2 if that is what you were asking about.

I've been thinking of removing this setup and selling the entire thing here, but I haven't got around to it yet. I am making a lithium setup which will be installed inside the cab.

Nice setup! Thanks. I'm really hoping to find a dual tray for the existing battery location to maximize space utilization and lower cost of cabling.

You ever consider just making something a little more custom?

Making a DIY tray and two smaller batteries is anther option to consider.

Nothing stops you from using a smaller battery and a DC-DC charger which is far easier to mount.

This is a nice option not a lot of people know about. Perfect for smaller fridge projects.

You can also consider using cheaper and smaller APC batteries which are designed for a UPS.

Uses alternator when the car is running.
Charges 2nd battery when car is running with 10a charger.
Switches over to 2nd when car is not running.

Call Matt @ Off Grid Engineering in Longmont. He is extremely knowledgable and can walk you thru your options. I did the second battery on the passenger side and it turned out great.

2003-2009 4Runner Complete Dual Battery System – Off-Grid Engineering

Off grid engineering makes an awesome complete dual battery setup but it’s definitely pricey. Can’t comment on quality- I came across their products through an Instagram add but the stuff definitely looks nice

I used the off grid tray and built my own dual battery setup cause I wanted a cheaper relay.

From having my own OGE setup as well as knowing a handful others with their products, I can definitely say it is top notch

If space maximization is your biggest concerning then the front right corner can fit a Group 34 with relocation of the power steering reservoir.

[QUOTE=traildog;snip[/QUOTE]

Do you have any other pictures of how you relocated your reservoir and mounted the battery? This is nearly exactly what I would like to do.

I spent some time the other night unbolting things and moving them around in preparation for a second battery and mounting my ARB compressor, so I am very curious to see more details in what you have going on.

I just followed you on instagram, I'm @garagegremlin

Thanks!

I'm in the process of getting a Prado dual battery tray from Piranha Offroad in Australia. It locates the second battery behind the passenger side headlight. I'll let you know how it works out.

I guess it also depends on v6 vs v8.

If v8 here's how I did arb twin compressor up front with second battery (heavier of the two things) at the stronger part of the inner fender.

How was mounting the extra battery tray? It looks like Off-Grid Engineering's.

Yes it is OGE. It was very easy. The parts were nice fit well. It was expensive but I suppose worth it for what you get. Haven't had to worry about it at all since install many miles ago.
