Need some quick purchase advise please!
After owning 40+ Toyota vehicles and 20 of them being 4x4, I'm usually the one advising others as to what is the 'best buy'.. today the tables have turned and I really just need some third party input.
Three options:
1. 2007 Black Sport Edition, 1 owner, 166k miles, no rust, $10k, always serviced with Amsoil full syn since new.
2. 2007 Gold SR5, 1 owner, 112k miles, condition isn't quite as nice as the other 2007, but it's still nice. $9500, no service records on hand.
2. 2007 GX470, 2 owner, zero rust, 91k miles, $16k and he won't budge. Has not had timing belt replaced.
Going by only the information here, which would YOU guys pull the trigger on?!

First one. I'd take service history with more miles any day!
If your budget stretches, the GX would be nice. Love the V8, but get the TB/WP done

Personal choice... first 2 are similar with about 50k miles between them for the same price. I also prefer the SE but that's personal preference. One should speak to you more than the other. To me the GX is out of the question being priced too high and not willing to service; what other short cuts did he take?

A) Offer $14K for GX with cash in hand.
B) The T4R in the best condition, it is a toss up.
Good Luck!

1 wins by default
2 is gold and the second 2 is a GX. I don't like their interior or exterior as much.

I know you said..."Going by only the information here"...but I don't think you've given enough info, the last one must be a V8, but you didn't say on the first 2 or they V6s or V8s, also are any 4X4s or...?
Also genral location also helps determine the going price range for T4Rs.

Given the info available.... I wouldn't consider any of them.

OK I'm gonna pick this one because even though he doesn't have service record on hand he seems to be the 'one owner' and he could probably tell you if it's been serviced or not and if he tells you he's been servicing every 5000 miles for oil changes OK, but if it looks like he hasn't been servicing it and you think it's not true, then I might just Go for the other number one.

No motor choices? Get the V8. Sports higher resale than gold. You also keep mentioning rust. Where are you located?

I'd go with #1. Generally people who are religious with quality maintenance ie. Amsoil since new in this case, is a strong indication they cared about the vehicle and kept up with things. That goes a long way as we know. Plus its an SE

#2 is the best deal in terms of value. Full syn or not, it still a tank that won't break! I wouldn't pay more than 12 for the GX thats ready for a belt change unless its pearl white, then maybe 13
