Accent Glow LED Cupholder Mod

Has anyone given these a try on here yet? I previously owned a 2013 Kia Optima and did the mod to those cup holders as there was no light in them at all. That was a huge upgrade a made a significant difference.

With the little amount of light the current lights emit in the 03-09 4runners, this looks like it could be a pretty good substitute. My only caution is by adding an extra "layer" it would make your drink a little taller and more likely for spillage...

Thoughts anyone?

Looks good, but why not just take apart the console and mount/install a brighter light and retain the factory location? I like the style of those, but I too would agree that the additional height inside the cup holder would only make them worse!

I like the way they look, but $50 seems a little steep for them.

Swapped out the LEDs

I just replaced the stock LEDs with some blue ones. It was all part of my center console LED upgrade plan anyway.

Might be better to just swap in some brighter LEDs as mentioned. Sounds like you would have to remove the center console to wire these to a power source anyway.

i tried putting 80mm ccfl, it was just too bright and the bright glow just draw your vision to the inside instead of the outside.
