i really like the look and always wanted to see this on some bigger rims. maybe see if you can get some 20's from a 5th gen would look better. the rim size just seems odd to me.

I agree, but I think a fat sidewall on a dropped truck makes it a bit more unique and probably feels better since you can still soak up crappy roads and driveways pretty well even with the drop.

Not sure what to do with the sides, but a front splitter that dropped down a couple inches would look cool.
Some sort of satoshi too.

I will look for another 4runner somewhere and take some comparison pictures. and regular standing eye level pics.
not sure about taking off the bars or roof rack. I was going for a specific look, more like what was commented, short stout, bull dog-ish.
however, you never know what the future brings. Maybe a supercharger, but to be honest, I was just playing around to add my touch to this thing because im saving up to get a car to have some fun in. was thinking a Mustang GT350, but that GT500 is sick too. Maybe price drop in a year or so after the hype dies down. lol.

Keep going with YOUR look. Make it like you want it - in the end, that's what we all want to see anyway. I might think it would look good with this, or would look better if you remove that, but I don't want to see what I think looks good. I want to see what YOU think looks good.
See what you started? - LOL! Keep it up!

Looks good! Now stuff 35s, would look even more badass lowered on big tires :P
Also, if you merely cut springs and retained stock shocks I would look into some kind of positive spring retention or test to make sure the springs aren't loose at full droop. You'll prob never reach full droop lowered, but losing a spring would suck
If ride quality suffered a lot, active bump stops would potentially help a lot with that since you'll be riding them a lot more lol

Lowered runner cut coils info.
Information on what I did.
I cut half a coil each time, installed then drove to see what the ride was like. I didn't have anyone to tell me how many springs I should cut, so this was my trial and error method. I honestly can't remember how many coils were cut total, with that said, I do suggest doing what I did. Get Moog Springs for the cut and drop. Just in case you aren't happy, you can install the factory springs back. Moog springs are inexpensive, so suggest this route.
Do not cut the factory springs.
I made the mistake of cutting the factory front springs and they don't have much coil compared to the moog springs. after cutting the factory front springs (half a coil) the drop was tremendous, to a point that it wasn't drivable (due to the tires I have 265/65/17).
I cut half a coil on the front and half on the back. The front sat nicely, now the back was the easy part. simply jacking the car from the body and allowing the rear axle to drop so you can easily remove the rear springs.
I cut half a coil each time, drove for a couple days, then cut another half if I wanted to go lower. I wanted to allow some time for the springs to settle.
Removing the front and rear coils are quite easy, so I suggest cutting half a coil and driving for a couple days to let them settle to your liking.
Front: installed half cut coil, from the top section.
Rear: maybe a full coil, I plan on cutting another half, maybe a quarter coil when I have time. also, I cut the inside bump stop, I didn't cut the rear external bump stop.
xreas: bled a little fluid from both left and right. this was done with a few drops, drove and felt for stiffness & comfort.
ride quality: a bit sportier than stock of course. shorter shocks are suggested for ride quality, but as of now, I don't plan to purchase shorter shocks because I am ok with the ride quality.
Would I do it again? Yes I would. maybe if I get a newer Runner, I will get shorter shocks.
camber adjustment: I am currently sitting at .8 neg camber on the front. I just rotated my tires at 5K miles. the tires didn't seem to have phased at all. but that's really depending on what kind of tire you have. I have Antares SMT A7 with a 500 Treadwear rating so I assume they wouldn't wear as bad.
hope this info helps.
