It actually rides pretty smooth. I did remove the front bump stops.
I went this route because it was the cheapest route to see how the ride was after lowering. Im now going to get some aftermarket shocks, camber kit (currently @ -.9 degree camber)
Lowered approximately 2" on all corners. I didn't measure prior to dropping really. sigh
It did rub because of my tire size 265/65/17 and the wide wheels 17x9.5 +18. So I re-drilled some new holes in the mounts of the mud flaps to pull them forward. Used a heat gun to heat the mud flaps and press them back to cool and form in place out of the way. No rubbing issues

@ Maka4runner
your 4Runner looks sick! You said the wheels are 17x9.5 +18? Looking at Roku's on Black Rhino's website, they only come in -18 and +12. Really digging the way these look and planning to pick up a set for my new to me 2003 T4R V8 4x4 SR5, but don't want to make an assumption and order the wrong ones. Do you mind clarifying what offset you have?

That looks pretty cool with the factory bumpers still on it. I would remove the roof rack and the step bars to make it cleaner. BTW - I installed a rear shock conversion kit for my 4runner that changes the top from pin to loop. After you have that installed you can get any shocks from any manufacturer to mount on the truck.

I honestly can't remember how many coils were cut total, with that said, I do suggest doing what I did. Get Moog Springs for the cut and drop. Just in case you aren't happy, you can install the factory springs back. Moog springs are inexpensive, so suggest this route.
Do not cut the factory springs.
I made the mistake of cutting the factory front springs and they don't have much coil compared to the moog springs. after cutting the factory front springs (half a coil) the drop was tremendous, to a point that it wasn't drivable (due to the tires I have 265/65/17).
I cut half a coil on the front and half on the back. The front sat nicely, now the back was the easy part. simply jacking the car from the body and allowing the rear axle to drop so you can easily remove the rear springs.
I cut half a coil each time, drove for a couple days, then cut another half if I wanted to go lower. I wanted to allow some time for the springs to settle.
Removing the front and rear coils are quite easy, so I suggest cutting half a coil and driving for a couple days to let them settle to your liking.
Front: installed half cut coil, from the top section.
Rear: maybe a full coil, I plan on cutting another half, maybe a quarter coil when I have time. also, I cut the inside bump stop, I didn't cut the rear external bump stop.
xreas: bled a little fluid from both left and right. this was done with a few drops, drove and felt for stiffness & comfort.
ride quality: a bit sportier than stock of course. shorter shocks are suggested for ride quality, but as of now, I don't plan to purchase shorter shocks because I am ok with the ride quality.
Would I do it again? Yes I would. maybe if I get a newer Runner, I will get shorter shocks.
camber adjustment: I am currently sitting at .8 neg camber on the front. I just rotated my tires at 5K miles. the tires didn't seem to have phased at all. but that's really depending on what kind of tire you have. I have Antares SMT A7 with a 500 Treadwear rating so I assume they wouldn't wear as bad.
hope this info helps.
