I'm not sure what topo maps are, but if it runs on android it should work. Bluetooth works for playing music and phone calls, but not to surf the web. I use a macro app on my phone to automatically connect to my wifi hotspot when my bluetooth connection is detected. So when I get in my car it automatically connects to my phones data. I only use this for pandora sometimes.
I have a cheap limited data cell phone plan so I download offline maps to google maps and generally don't use too much data on the road. Use the ucam app for the dvr. It came with the unit. Works fine on mine. I used EZpass tape and mounted it by the rearview mirror.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I'm looking for the simplest plug-n-play head unit that works with the JBL system

From what I've seen, if want to install one of these Android Units (I am totally planning on doing this), you must let the manufacture know that this will be plugged into a Toyota JBL system. A lot of the units for sale (on aliexpress or whatever) are compatible, but some hardware has to be included in order for it to work properly.

Did anyone ever find an answer to this one. I am interested as well. Hoping to find the best android unit that will most easily plug into my 2003 4Runner with JBL. I am not sure if my original Toyota radio was RMS or if that matters. I hope to be able to have both gps and backup camera features.

Other than that, the unit has been very impressive.

USB tethering draws a lot less battery then BT does. Makea big diff on long trips when your using more battery then your replacing..

Use the ucam app that comes on the unit to use the dvr feature. It works perfectly. Fm reception is not as good now, even with everything connected propperly. Unit is holding up perfectly so far, bluetooth calling and music is great. I dont use the gps often, I still tend to use my phone and link it via bluetooth. Still highly recomend.

Posting here instead of making a new thread.
Going to order the Atoto A6Y for my 2003 Limited with the JBL system. I sent email to atato support to see if there was anything extra I would need to interface with the JBL system but I also wanted to check here to see if anyone else has already done the install with the JBL system and got everything working.
The plan is to slowly eliminate all the JBL stuff but I need to do it in stages.
I've seen some stuff about the Maestro SW for the 03-05 4R. Anyone using that? Will I need that with the A6Y?

From what I understand, you don't need any adaptors for an Android head unit. The unit allows you to program what buttons do what, its very cool.
The few people I've seen who install Android units seem to work just fine.

But is that with the JBL factory system? I'm having to work with that until I can fully eliminate it.

When in Rome...these units are solid and simple for a 2004 non JBL??
i have been entertaining the idea of smokers kit and 12V Anker BT transmitter for some phone connectivity ($50 total and fantastic reviews on the anker transmitter, as in 5,000 reviews 4.5 stars) but im thinking since i have to lift the console for smokers kit (i know i could use transmitter with non smokers kit but i run radar and charger on horizontal splitter, want to retain that) maybe i should put in one of these units instead...
i want reliability compared to sound quality. and easy fitment, and these things are just $50 more than the smokers kit and anker transmitter...might still go this route.
thanks

Pretty sure with the non-JBL you are golden with the A6Y head unit.
I'd still get the smokers kit since it gives you additional power ports. I plan on putting one in mine still.
